This weekend is the very popular Bishop Auckland Food Festival. If you're in town pop up to say hello to us as Eric's Spring Exhibition continues and Jayne Parker Johnson opens her exhibition in our first floor studio 😊
I bet this one will bring back memories for people :) http://www.ukwatercolours.com/painting/odeon-cinema/
Well I promised this at the beginning of the week, but as usual time gets away from me.... Eric's new original paintings from his Spring Exhibition have now been loaded onto our website :) www.ukwatercolours.com/new-originals/
I leave Eric alone for 1 day and our two screen setup has turned to three!!! #noimpulsecontrol 😂😂
The Tank came to Bishop Auckland! This original painting by Eric Thompson is available in a 'Blind Auction' On view in Bondgate Gallery we have sealed envelopes and a sealed box for people to make their bid for this painting. The winning bid money will go straight to the MRI Scanner at Bishop Auckland Hospital. The draw will be made on Saturday 14th April at 12.30pm in the Newgate Centre. To commemorate 100 years since the end of World War 1, Eric has painted an amazing original acrylic of the Tank that came to Bishop Auckland on the 11th April 1918. This is a Mark IV ‘battle worn’ tank that was used during the war and then went 'On Tour' to raise money for the Tank Bank. In 1919 the Tank was given to Bishop Auckland by the National War Savings Association in recognition of the total £600,000 (£48 million – value 2017) raised in the 1918 War Loan effort.
This exhibition by Jayne Parker Johnson will be set up over the weekend in our first floor gallery space. Lovely bright watercolour paintings 😊
This is our brand new display wall. Launched last night, its dedicated to all things Bishop Auckland. Eric also introduced 18 brand new original paintings and I'll load them onto our website early next week.
The bar staff at tonight's preview, Lee tried to get in the photo but we took the photo while he was upstairs drinking more wine.
One hour to go! 18 new original paintings, 1 new display wall. 2 exhausted gallery dudes who can't wait for a drink 🥂
