A gorgeous early series 2 API frame with frame breather markings. Runs superb, comes with 2 keys, 2k miles on the clock, frame imported 2008 although the logbook is on a 1981 so its possible it was imported as early as then. I was told GP Scooters built it. It has Hyundai blue side panels, horncast, headset and wheel hubs- some wear and tear, not the best paint job but still really nice. One-off Shipstons Beer decals authorised by the brewery for use, possibly even provided by them if memory serves me right. We have fitted a new rear hub seal and replaced the shoes, we've painted the hubs to match as they were green. We've fitted new wheels and serviced the scooter. We've also addressed some of the paint issues making it much nicer and can give you some touch up paint. Overall its really straight, solid and attractive. Theres a few off white touch ups on the leg shields and the blue isn't a show winning finish but as you can see its a really attractive scooter and a credit to its previous owner. We can arrange delivery, a deposit will secure, you can get us on 0121 459 5792 between 11am-7pm everyday except Mondays when we are closed. We are open Sundays. 1975 Vespa 150 Super- VBC. UK registered from new - sold 6 former keepers from 6/6/75 Last on the road 2015, 52 miles on the new speedo. Full MOT Full service New stator New seat New spare white wall B13 and new wheel/tube Recently restored with a replacement engine (original comes with the scoot as the numbers are very close but it had an air leak hence the swap). Current engine fitted is a 1972 Super 150 and starts and runs well, good/smooth gear change. 6V with battery and 8" with Sava white wall tyres. The scoot has had a reasonable respray, good solid paint, no runs or overspray and nice and bright but the prep was poor in a few small places so its not a show winner but its a really attractive scoot. We can't see any filler or welds anywhere, looks incredibly solid/straight and very attractive. Original seat will come with it, original number plate, V5 and previous MOT. As I say it comes with the original engine casings too which has been stripped, has the crank but no piston/barrel, carb, stator or fly wheel. £2299 Great to see an original UK from new Super 150! 07592 950940 Deposit will secure, we can deliver. We take cash, bank transfer or cards.
Vespa TX200- £1599. Reduced to £1499 to keep stock moving.. Fresh from sunny Spain! Runs and idles well with no smoke, very little choke needed. Autolube disabled, electric start, digital rev counter, very original throughout, working electrics, original seat, rest and rack. Solid wheels and good tyres. Solid and straight floor. Side stand and centre stand. Original bodywork with only minor battle scars by way of the odd scratch here and there -and a terrible touch up job on one side panel, small shallow dent in front left leg shield. The kickstarthas snapped off, it starts well from the electric start. The exhaust is scabby but not blowing, Spanish MOT, NOVA’d. Flower sticker indicates either a lady owner or a very camp male owner 😂. I’ll throw that in! Theres some grass seed in the headlamp lens you can have, cultivate your own Spanish meadow on the side. A great 200 to own as is or restore at just £1599. 07592 950940 Delivery possible
1975 Vespa 150 Super- VBC. UK registered from new - £2299 6 former keepers from 6/6/75, last on the road 2015, 52 miles on the new speedo. Recently restored with a replacement engine (original comes with the scoot as the numbers are very close but it had an air leak hence the swap). Current engine fitted is a 1972 Super 150 and starts and runs well, good/smooth gear change. 6V with battery and 8" with Sava white wall tyres. The scoot has had a reasonable respray, good solid paint, no runs and nice and bright but the prep was poor so it still shows a few battle scars in the shape of bumps under the paint from its former life, quite nice in terms of patina but not a show winner. We can't see any filler or welds anywhere, looks incredibly solid/straight and very attractive. Original seat, original number plate, V5 and previous MOT. As I say it comes with the original engine casings too which has been stripped, has the crank but no piston/barrel, carb, stator or fly wheel. £2299 as is or £2499 with an MOT, all we can see is an adjustment on the front brake required. The battery is 6v and either needs charging or bypassing. If we MOT it we will bypass it. Everything works. Great to see an original UK from new Super 150! 07592 950940 Deposit will secure, we can deliver. We take cash, bank transfer or cards.

Just in! 1975 UK Super 150 VBC. Lovely scoot. With so many Asian examples around it’s refreshing to see one that’s been registered in the UK from new. 7 owners since 1975. Still 8” and 6v.
MOT exemptions. From the DVSA to The Classic Scooter Company 9/3/2018 (First the technical stuff and then I’ll explain that it means in practical terms to scooterists) As of 20th May 2018 vehicles aged 40 years or older from this day will automatically be exempt from an MOT test. This is a rolling annual exemption to bring in line with current tax exemption rules. The exemption is automatic however the DVLA’s online tax service ‘may not’ initially automatically recognise a vehicle as not requiring an MOT the DVSA explained, thus rejecting an online tax application. Hopefully the DVLA online tax system will have been updated by then however the DVSA can’t confirm this will be the case. If you go to tax online but it still searches for an MOT on a now exempt scooter you will be required to tax your scooter at a post office, when doing so you can collect a V112 from behind the counter and tick a box saying ‘vehicle is over 40 years and MOT exempt’. Hopefully however the DVLA online tax system will have been updated by May 20th and scooterists can simply tax online as normal (Tax exempt scooters still have to be ‘taxed’ online with a null payment £0). Exemptions to the new rule: we’ve had a lot of questions about this. Exemptions are heavily structural or mechanical modifications and therefore if your scooter has ‘extensive’ modifications you still require an MOT. This is a grey area open to interpretation but the DVSA did go on to confirm: The DVSA consider an ‘extensive mechanical modification’ to be a scooter that houses an engine modified or changed (switched out) to more than 15% of its original CC (according to what’s recorded on the logbook and DVLA system). An ‘extensive structural modification’ is considered to be anything that alters the original design of the scooter to beyond it original design- hence this being a subjective area open to interpretation. The DVSA however did advise that exhausts, chopped leg shields, extended forks, mirrors, lights, are NOT classed as major modifications (surprisingly). They clarified that scooters barely resembling their original form or scooters housing non-original engines, such as a Vespa LX auto in a Lambretta (even if it under the 15% cc tolerance), or the other end of the spectrum a jet ski engine for drag racing etc is what they refer to in this exemption. So, what does this mean to our kitted and chopped scooters? In practice if you have an Li150 with a TS230cc engine this is more that 15% of its original 150cc capacity (see table below) and therefore is exempt from the exemption and still requires an MOT. However this is only if the logbook has been correctly updated to 230cc. If your logbook and therefore the DVLA system still records a 150cc engine you are still exempt (disclaimer* but breaking the law as you should update the logbook and therefore lose exemption. Falsely claiming exemption with invalidate your insurance as you’ll be riding without an MOT). If you have a 125cc Vespa/Lambretta with a 166c kit and your logbook says 166cc you still require an MOT. If it still says 125cc you will still be exempt (disclaimer* but breaking the law as you should update the logbook as previously outlined). So on one sense one could argue that this will only encourage scooterists to incorrectly record engine cc on a logbook to claim the exemption but on the other in doing so you’re invalidating your insurance policy by not having an MOT). Here’s some math for you. 15% equates to: 50cc = 57.5cc 90cc = 103.5cc 125cc = 143.7cc 150cc = 172.5cc 200cc = 230cc
