We are a small Birmingham based rescue, which takes in unwanted, abused and abandoned animals. We do not use kennels, instead we have foster homes which enables us to see the dogs and cats behaviour in a home environment.More info on main website We are a small Birmingham based rescue, which takes in unwanted, abused and abandoned animals. All the animals that come into our care are treated for fleas, ticks, mites and worms, they also have a full veterinary 'm.o.t', and are neutered, if over 6 months, and inoculated before going to their new homes.
We do not use kennels, instead we have foster homes, which enable us to see the animals behaviour in a home environment, then any problems can be dealt with and we can re-home them to the most appropriate place. All prospective adopters will be home-checked. If you live outside the Birmingham area and would like to adopt a dog, we will need a veterinary reference and copies of two recent household bills. Please check with any rental agreements or Landlords to make sure that pets are allowed in your home.

PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT REHOME TO ALL DAY WORKERS.

All dogs are kept at foster homes and the adverts will show the contact name and number for that home. Please contact them in the first instance as they will be able to advise you better.

Save the Sandwell MBC In House Dog Warden Service

From 1st June 2017, Sandwell MBC will transfer their "in house" dog warden service to a sub contractor. The council have decided that it is more cost effective. John Lowden (or "Boots" as he's affectionately known to his friends) has been the council dog warden for a heck of a long time and over the past years Boots has gone above and beyond reuniting many, many lost dogs and owners. Boots didn't believe his job stopped at reuniting the strays he also believed ...and still does, that the neglected, abused and injured dogs that he picked up all deserved a chance. If he had just let them go to kennels who knows what the out come would have been, suffice it to say that council pounds do not like spending money on these types of dogs. Boots would spend his time liaising with Jenny from K9 to see if a place could be found in rescue... they nearly always succeeded and as they were no longer in council care it kept the costs down for Sandwell Council.... no kennel fees, no vets bills and no destruction costs. The Animal House has worked for a long time with Boots and have helped on many, many, many occasions and are extremely sad that the ones losing out yet again are the dogs in need. Today John Boots Lowden will leave work for the last time and then the contractors will take over :( with the best will in the world they cannot offer what this man has over the years to the dogs that are found as strays and so we would like your help..... please like this page that has been set up and sign the petition to get the "in house" dog warden service reinstated. https://www.facebook.com/saveourdogwarden/ Thank you Boots for all you have ever done for the needy dogs <3 x <3 x <3 x <3
