facebook.comCongratulations and well done to my client Julie Andrews and her team, finishing a successful 2017 on a high with one of her rides Wilando B a.k.a. Willy B at Liverpool International. Willy B, pictured here at Bolesworth this summer (where he also featured on the podium) is a true gent, always a pleasure to shoe. Well done!
Congratulations and well done to client, Kirsten Deakin on her win today here at Liverpool International. A great line up to come this evening including showjumping, the Shetland Grand National and Freestyle dressage.
Last week, Woody could hardly walk; he was suffering from laminitis secondary to Equine Metabolic Syndrome. I attended Oakhill Equine Vets where he was hospitalised and after examining the radiographs with their lameness specialists, I fitted some specially-modified Imprint plastic shoes (he had bigger feet than the largest size of plastic shoes!) Using Imprint granules, the shoes were remodelled and extended to make them larger and therefore fit comfortably. A week later and he is able to walk comfortably and is fit to return home for Christmas. The advantage of these shoes is that glue is used rather than nails to attach the shoe, avoiding any further trauma to the inflamed laminae.
Now taking card payments. Ask for more details.
Willy B winning National Speed Horse Champion! Ridden by Julie Andrews. Always nice to see my shoes doing their job!

An Egg Bar shoe with an additional heel clip from today, made to help stabilise a quarter crack on the medial (inside) quarter of this horse. It is fitted full to the heels, providing plenty of palmar support. Hopefully, we should start to see big improvements in this shoeing cycle.

An interesting case I have been involved with recently... This gelding presented with a recurring abscess due to a keratoma, a benign growth of the hoof wall. Surgical removal of the keratoma was performed by Oakhill Equine Vets and the foot has since been bandaged to allow the site to granulate and become covered in horn again. I have just fitted a heart bar and filled the defect with plastic filler so that the horse can return to pasture.
