Working with our partner organisations we provide vocational and corporate training and consultancy across Northern Ireland. Working with our partner organisations we provide vocational and corporate training and consultancy across Northern Ireland. We are a major contract holder for the Department for the Economy (DfE), offering a range of occupational training and qualifications to over 2,500 learners per year through:

•   ApprenticeshipsNI - for adults aged 16 – 24 who are employed and want to upskill and obtain accreditation in their occupational area.

•   Training for Success -  for 16 - 18 year olds, equipping them with the skills and qualifications required for the workplace.

•   Steps 2 Success - for jobseekers to build skills and experience that will help them progress into work.

•   LEMIS+ -  an initiative designed to help unemployed people in the community overcome those issues that may be preventing them from finding and keeping a job.

•   Community Family Support - an initiative designed to help families make life changing decisions to enhance and improve their everyday lives. The initiative also aims to prevent young people falling into the NEET.

Through these and our extensive range of bespoke corporate training, People 1st meets the needs of a diverse range of customers, including 800+ private, public and third sector businesses, school leavers and jobseekers.


We have three offices in Belfast (Malone, Ormeau and Stewartstown Road), as well as offices in Lisburn, Lurgan, Portadown and Newry.   We extend our services across Northern Ireland through strategic partnerships.

Today we were very happy to welcome Stephen Thompson to our office on the Malone Road. Stephen is the Chairman of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Motor Neuron Disease Association and was collecting a donation of £1500 for MNDANI, raised by People 1st staff and students. Several fundraising activities were organised including money boxes, Euros sweeps, a Christmas fundraiser, a Mud Run, sponsored walks and much more. We wish MNDANI all the best going forward.

Students at Dairy Farm ran a hotdog stand at the autumn fair and treated the local people to tasty hotdogs. The proceeds go towards their annual fishing trip that will be arranged at a later date. Well done to all involved. 😋😁⭐

Big Congratulations to Laura Stankute from everyone at People 1st. Laura received her certificates for having achieved her Level 2 Diploma in IT User through our Portadown office and has recently progressed onto Level 3. She has found this qualification invaluable to her role dealing with accounts at Bann Ltd. Well done Laura!!

Kevin Shortt started on Training For Success programme and achieved his Level 2 Barbering then progressed onto the apprenticeship programme and achieved his L3 Barbering. As a result of this Kevin has secured permanent employment with Francis Kelly Hair Academy and has been working on establishing his own regular clientele. Kevin has stated that having completed the apprenticeship programme he now wishes to build upon his skills and qualifications and move into teaching Barbering!!! Well done Kevin.
