Who's getting involved with the #BackArchMarch challenge? It makes me think of something I hear a lot from a particular friend "If you want to improve your running try Yoga, If you want to improve your mental health try yoga, if you want to improve your relationships try yoga, basically if there's something in your life you'd like to improve yoga can help - even yoga itself if you want to improve your yoga practice then do more YOGA!" I think it's her version of one of Pattabhi Jois's most famous quotes "Practice, Practice and all is coming!" My yoga practice which includes a fair few backbends filters through to all the other physical things I do, which enables me to do moves that require an bendy back on the Pole, Trapeze, Hoop, Silks & Sling and even on somebody else's feet in Acroyoga. It also helps me to be courageous and brave in life and to keep my heart and mind open. I'm thinking of celebrating the end of Back Arch March with a little backbending workshop - who's interested?

What has your mum given you? I think I've inherited my mums feet! She and my dad have given me the huge gift of independence - setting me up to travel on my own to an Au pair job in Italy when I was just 16. Teaching me how to cook so I can eat well for the rest if my life! Showing me the importance of getting out and about in nature be it long sunday walks across Exmoor or days by the seaside. They gave me the gift of learning to swim, to play music and dance classes too - things they hadn't had as kids - although they did all these things with gusto later in life - showing me that you can! If you work at it accomplish many things! They always encouraged and supported me whatever crazy thing I wanted to do! They've shown me how to love, how to be kind, compassionate and generous, most of all to be open to the possibilities of life! Namaste to all mums (indeed all parents)- I am in deep awe of your relentless work and dedication to the next generation 🙏
