The RUH choir extends a warm welcome to staff who work at or who have worked for the hospitals and their connected organisations.   About the choir:

The RUH choir extends a warm welcome to staff who work at or who have worked for the hospitals and their connected organisations.  Led by our musical director, Julie Payne, we sing a variety of music, including pop, musicals, gospel, light classical and world music.  It’s mostly unaccompanied, which gives us the opportunity to turn up around the hospital and entertain patients, visitors and staff.  We also do concerts with another choir, usually in the summer or at Christmas, raising money for the RUH Forever Friends Appeal.

Whether you sing regularly elsewhere or have always wanted to, you’re welcome to join us.  You don’t have to be able to read music and don't worry, there's no audition, just lots of singing, so come along for a couple of taster sessions to try it out.  It's a great way to meet some new people and a great stress-buster in the middle of a busy working day!

We rehearse on Tuesdays between 1-2pm in the chapel (B26).

What our members say:

‘It leaves you going back to work in a better mood’

‘I love to sing and it makes me more confident in other situations’

‘I find it uplifting – it makes me feel more positive for the rest of the afternoon’

‘It's a great way to make new friends, improve confidence’

‘Sounds as good as it feels’

‘A lovely way to spend an hour a week’

‘It's fun and welcoming - for singers of any level – it's fab!’
