George White was born in Barwell in 1850 and died here on the 20th December 1923 He married Sarah Ann Price in 1884 at St. Mary's Parish Church. George and Sarah went on to have 6 children. He was one of the founders of the Garner, White and Breward boot and shoe factories.

" Do you know anything about the rumoured secret tunnel/ passage between St Marys Church in Barwell and a property on Shilton Road ? I heard about it years ago, but wanted to show a friend something about it."
