facebook.comJust to let you know, we have no power at present and most of the surrounding region is in the same predicament. We will be open but we will have a very restricted menu and no Sunday roast. Heating will only be from 2 lit fires and we will only be able to take cash as payment. No card transaction facility will be available. I will update once power is restored which at present, is quoted as around 1pm today.... Edit: Power now restored as of Monday 5th March!
The A682 that runs past us from Barrowford to Gisburn is now open and in fact has been for the past 24 hours. There are some spots where the road nearly becomes a single lane due to snow that had piled up so mind how you go. 😉
Anyone thinking of coming this way today, don't. There are at least three drifting snow spots between Blacko Bar Road and the pub. Unless you have a vehicle specifically kitted out for these conditions, don't come up here. We will post an update once conditions improve.
Just to let you know that it's one of those months where the Wednesday acoustic music night falls within the same week as the Friday acoustic music session. Therefore, the next Friday acoustic music session will be this coming Friday (9th of February) at the usual time of 8.30pm

Hi All, this coming Wednesday, 7th February 2018, we have as our guest Peter Ivatts. Peter is a professional actor,doing mostly television work for many years,however, in recent years he found he had a massive talent for writing songs, and we are pleased to be able to showcase him at The Moorcock. With support from our resident musicians and singers, this promises to be a night of fine songs and fun, if you like well played acoustic music, come and join us - - -FREE ENTRY with a half-time collection for the guest.
