facebook.comCinema boss considering ‘calling it a day’ - Barnsley News from the Barnsley Chronicle
It's time SYP, BMBC and the newly elected Police Commissioner for SY came together to solve the problem of anti social behaviour in the town for everyone's sake. I'm sure that everyone will agree enough is enough. Our Town needs to become a ZERO TOLERANCE ZONE and sooner rather than later. What do you say!? You can let the leader of the council Cllr Steve Haughton know your thoughts via the following email address CllrStephenHoughton@barnsley.gov.uk or if you prefer to write to the Police and Crime Commissioner Dr Alan Billings his email address is info@southyorkshire-pcc.gov.uk

Police hit back at CCTV criticism - Barnsley News from the Barnsley Chronicle
Personally I think the police in South Yorkshire haven't the time or the resources to be bothered chasing and investigating some criminals and what's frightening is the fact that criminals know this.

Further to my most recent call to the office of Dan Jarvis MP regarding the increase in antisocial behavior in town as well as the increase in burglaries, I have now received a reply from him. Bearing in mind that both the Police and the Council invited me and other business owners along to a meeting on Wednesday the 19th of February 2014 at the CIVIC to discuss the problem of antisocial behavior and 30 months later they’re still talking about it. Therefore, my conclusion is this, if our MP together with our duly elected Council and Police Commissioner were that concerned then they have had more than enough time to solve the problem. How much evidence do they need, how many meetings must they hold before action is taken, I do believe that BMBC together with the South Yorkshire Police have the powers to act, they have to ability to solve the problem. Or do they think spending 50 million on new shops is going to solve the problem!? It’s time that the cabinet at the council woke up and took a walk down into town and stroll around the towns streets over the period of a few days to see for itself, its time the reporters at the Barnsley Chronicle and other media companies came into town to interview the business owners and shoppers alike and ask them for their views and opinions. Perhaps you would like to share your own opinion, views here…..

Latest news regarding the two scroats that burgled our Eldon Street shop, they were arrested and are now out on bail pending the results of the forensic evidence being obtained. We are informed that they are due to appear at Barnsley Police Station on the 10th of October, so they're now out and about to do the same again, so beware as I'm told that these two scroats are compulsive thieves, it's their life, they thieve to live basically.

Someone has just suggested that we need night time security at our shops. My reply…… I already pay towards security. They are called the "Police" the problem is they don't do the job that they're paid to do, yet our local government BMBC can spend £44.000 (Forty Four Thousand Pounds) equipping each of the boroughs 63 councilors with the latest and top of the range Ipads. What everyone needs is to feel safe, safe from all types of criminals 24/7 in town and at home, it is about time our council and Police Commissioner got together to give the rate and council tax payers what we pay for. What do you say?
