Most of us, although curious, are not very familiar with the world of Pole Fitness so it is only natural to have many questions. Here are the answers to some very common questions. What do I wear? The number one rule here is to be comfortable. We suggest something similar to what you would wear at the gym. A t-shirt or vest top is recommended as you will definitely work up a sweat. Shorts or a short skirt are also great as they allow your thighs to grip the pole, however if you are more comfortable in 3⁄4 trousers or tracksuit trousers they are fine as well. It is important to wear light weight trainers for the warm up. We do not allow boots or high heels in our classes as the Rpole’s all have safety mats fitted as standard and heels will puncture the mats. You can stay in your trainers if you are more comfortable, however, bare feet is best for on Pole moves. Do I need to bring anything? We provide a small towel to wipe the pole with but it’s a good idea to bring a small personal towel for yourself. Please bring a drink of water preferably in a non spill bottle. Am I too old? Too young? You must be over 16 or over to participate in our classes, We have taught ladies ranging from just 16 right up to 64 so there is no age restrictions. Am I too short? Too heavy? Too shy? It is completely natural to be nervous or experience apprehension when treading in unfamiliar territory, especially when fitness is involved. All our lessons incorporate fun and fitness and are specially designed for the everyday women and enables women of all shape, size and ability to participate. Women are amazed at the sense of achievement and confidence gained by being a part of Pole fitness classes. Our equipment has a recommended weight restriction of 100kg/220lb, (16 stone) If you are above this weight bracket please get in touch for some weight loss advice. What if I am not good at it? Everyone has different strengths, weaknesses and body shapes, Pole has something for everyone. All women possess their own unique ability to express themselves on and around the pole and we are both highly trained and experienced instructors with many years teaching experience at hand. We focus on fun but with health and safety in the forefront of all our lessons. Some moves will challenge you; some moves will feel strange. KEEP in mind – that is it not everyday you swing around a pole. It is like everything – it takes practice. Moves can be modified to help you perform them. IMPORTANT Please make sure you do not have any oils, lotions or moisturisers on your skin prior to any lesson - please leave 24 hours after any spray tans and like with any other form of fitness and dance you must be in good health and not suffering from any aches and pains prior to your lessons. These classes are for ladies and gentlemen of all shapes and sizes and any age so please don't be shy or worry that you will be the odd one out. You are not too old, too unfit or too out of shape. The classes and moves are adapted to suit everyone. The important thing is that you just have fun!
