Banchory Community Council recently made a contribution via the Windmill fund to Banchory Sports Village. This contribution effectively allowed the Sports Village to reach the target for the Community contribution required and we are all delighted that with all the hard work of many we are there . Tender has been accepted by Aberdeenshire Council to build the facility and it is hoped to have work commence on the site very soon . Aberdeenshire Council have erected the sign At Hill of Banchory to indicate the site location and the completion date . "IT WILL HAPPEN" has been our message throughout and here we are.

Due to lack of ticket sales and disappointing though it is we have had no alternative but to CANCEL the Race Night on Saturday 18 March Banchory Sports Village The positive message is this project is nearing a conclusion re funding from the Community as we have raised £675,000 towards out target of £700,000. Council have agreed planning permission and that build will commence in the summer. The balance of £25,000 needs to be raised and we are having a RACE NIGHT on 18 march and sure it can only be a success with people attending -----so get you friends together and come along to the Burnett Arms.
