The Braid Film Theatre is showing the 1946 version of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast In Jean Cocteau's haunting, lyrical adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, a merchant is told that he must die for picking a rose from the Beast's garden. However, his courageous daughter Josette offers to give herself up to the Beast instead. Eventually, Josette is drawn to the strangely fascinating Beast.
