It's always a tricky task picking your wedding venue, especially here in Deeside. That job is made a lot easier when you happen to own one of the local estates however... Edward & Amanda's wedding was a joy to photograph. We were delighted to be asked to capture their wedding day recently. Sons playing pipes, classic Jaguars, cake cutting with short swords, surprise singing performances and a casino! This wedding was bursting at the seams with fantastic opportunities to photograph, quite literally... 😳#trousergate Let it not be said that we don't suffer for our art here at Aboyne Photographics! ♥︎♡ Supplier Love ♡♥︎ // St Kentigern's Church, Ballater (Vittoria Hancock) // Country Flavours of Alford // Peter Grant & Elliot Goldie - Singing // Dinnet and Kinord Estate - Salmon Fishing - River Dee

There's an old saying that goes "Marry on a Wednesday for the best day of all..." Amber & Michael's wedding definitely stayed true to this old adage. Although the pair married mid-week. Over 160 of their nearest & dearest cleared their schedules to party, and party they did!.. Everyone likes a full dancefloor, none more so than the photographer & the band themselves. Thankfully we were treated to a non-stop extravaganza of shape throwing goodness courtesy of the Brassholes' playing. A fantastic day and an equally fantastic couple. ♥︎♡ Supplier Love ♡♥︎ // Humanist Association Scotland (Rachel Donald) // Orchard Wedding Photography + Film // Bliss Flowers // Tom McGuire & The Brassholes // The Dotted Crotchets String Quartet + Trio // Make Me Up Artistry // Zoe Gordon Special Occasion Hair // Picky pencil entertainment and illustration

Jason & Ian travelled all the way from Seattle, Washington with their friends & family to celebrate their marriage at the stunning Drumtochty Castle. Having already married at city hall back home, they had a close friend conduct their marriage blessing ceremony here in bonnie Scotland. It was a beautifully intimate day. Relatively few guest, a very informal format for the day but absolutely amazing to be a part of all the same. Laura & I had such a blast shooting this one and feel very honoured to be asked by the boys to capture their special day. Congratulations once again guys!

Find a significant other that makes you laugh like this and you're onto a winner... Last week we were at Drumtochty for Jane & Piers' wedding. We had the most amazing time photographing their big day. They had a stunning day for it too. This super chilled pair were a great laugh to be around. Piers had us in stitches when he did what any self-respecting groom/bride should do when cutting their wedding cake. Take a huge slice with a sword and ram it in your gob! That's how it's done folks. ♥︎♡ Supplier Love ♡♥︎ // Hays Flowers // Cakes by Kirsty // McIndoe Horse Drawn Carriages // Foot Stompin' Ceilidh Band // Amour wedding videos

We had another scorching day shooting Alex & Tom's wedding on Saturday. These two adorable humans, along with their family and friends (inc. rugby & hockey team mates) made the day a memorable one. It's always great fun getting to shoot weddings with some of our favourite people (and meeting new suppliers too). Finally got to experience the Drouthy Mare (mobile bar) in the flesh. And it was a big hit with the guests. Mad props to Alex & Tom for being such a chilled and fun-loving individuals! Not every couple would be comfortable sharing an intimate horse & carriage ride with their photographer & videographer... 🤣 Despite the heat of the day, they kept the party going at full tilt. In fact, it was probably THE MOST animated, floor-filling, first dance we've witnessed to date. The roof felt like it was about to blow off of the ballroom! ♥︎♡ Supplier Love ♡♥︎ // WD Films // Francine Ray Makeup // Hays flowers // 3 Tiers // Rachael Donald - celebrant // Wilde Thyme Catering // Maryculter Carriage Driving Centre // Neil Selbie & Co. // Reel of Fortune Ceilidh Band

Here's a little shot of Laura "doing her thang" at Saturday's wedding. It's a funny one, we often get people referring to just me (Russell) when they mention or thank the company. But in reality we are a duo. Laura is the mac to my cheese, the butter to my bread and without her Aboyne Photographics wouldn't be what it is. Can we get a little "holla!" for this absolute babe. #shestherealboss #sheaintnoassistant #workingwithyourwife #bestteamever #doubleact #laurelandhardy #chucklebrothers #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

Nina & Fraser's wedding marks the half-way point in our 2019 season. But there was nothing half measure about this day, it was 100% amazing!! These guys were absolutely adorable to photograph! We have been SUPER excited to share these preview shots with you all... ♥︎♡ Supplier Love ♡♥︎ // The Barn at Barra Castle // Meldrum House Hotel(groom accommodation) // Country Flavours of Alford // Michelle Reid // Tracey Cepeda Makeup Artistry // Trina's Art & Flowers // Cakes by Kirsty // Sharon Short - celebrant // Sneaky Treacle - wedding band // Myke Black - reception & ceremony music // Simple Wedding Films // Love Paper Co.

These sneak peeks from Sarah & Harry's wedding give a glimpse of just how spectacular the day was... This was the second wedding in 2 days for us. Coincidentally, both couples married in a small rural church, held their reception in a marquee at home and had a very relaxed day with few staged group shots. Yet the two days could not have been more different... And that is what is so good about shooting weddings. Even with nearly identical formats, no two are ever the same. We had the most wonderful time capturing it all and got to work with some lovely people, yet again. ♥︎♡ Supplier Love ♡♥︎ // Hudsons Catering // Trina's Art & Flowers // Callanish Music // Richard Leng (RL Films co.)
