facebook.comRecall...... Its one of the most important things your dog will learn. It can potentially save lives, but it can be one of the most coming training issues! Here are some tips to improve your dogs recall. * Use high quality rewards, such as chicken, boiled liver or whatever your dog loves. * When you call your dog keep your tone neutral and call your dog over for a treat or a game and then let them go off again. DOn't just call them to signal the end of a walk. *Use a decent harness rather than a slip lead or choke chain. Slip leads and choke chains can cause discomfort and may discourage your dog from coming back to you. *Work on distractions with your dog on lead by teaching your dog to give eye contact. * Reward your dog for staying near you. *Lastly in areas around livestock or distractions that your dog finds irresistable put your dog on a lead whilst you are working on improving your dogs recall.
