Was thinking of going fishing, then thought, nah! Beer time. Just for you Lee Denton.
Congratulations to Mr D. Taylor on winning the Peter Philips memorial trophy today Sunday 8/4/18. The first of the clubs cup/trophy matches this year. His weight of 14lb 5oz couldn't be touched. He had a nice carp and a mixed bag of silvers. In second place was Mr S. Turner who managed to snag three bream for 6lb 4oz, no carp today Steve! Third place went to myself, four tench and a rake of bits for a paltry 3lb 11oz. Once again thanks for the good turn out, it helps the club with funding. Sadly I won't be here for the next one, the Devlin cup, or the next doubles match as I will be sunning it up somewhere warm. Mr S. Birchall and Mr S. Turner will be running the Devlin cup match on the 22/4/18. Toodle pip for now, see you all when I get back. Match sec, M. A. Dransfield.
Hi all! I've been asked to put this on here for those of you who don't make the meetings. We are running a world cup draw, envelopes are £10. each, there are only 12 left, so get your skates on if you want one. You can aquire one by; turning up to the next meeting, turning up to the next match on the pond or contacting Mr K. Tibbett the club chairman.
Hi all! The first of this years doubles matches was fished Sunday 25/3/18, the victors this time round were messers S. Birchall and D. Birtwistle. With a winning weight of 18lb 9oz, three carp and a skimmer, all caught by Mr S. Birchall, Mr D. Birtwistle not having caught anything now for four matches on the pond.😂😂😂 Mr S. Birchall was the overall winner and gets his name on the trophy. Second place pair were Mr T.K. Max and Mr N. Dodd, who weighed in 13lb 15oz between them, with Mr T.K. Max doing the lions share of the catch, once again carp doing the damage. Taking up third spot were Mr D. Roberts and Mr T. Porter, weighing in 12lb 14oz, with Mr D. Roberts carrying Mr T. Porter who didn't contribute anything to the weight. I felt sorry for Mr Roberts as he lost fish after fish to the pads he was fishing to, by rights he should have romped it. To be honest the over night frost spoilt the party for most of us, if you didn't have a pad to fish to it was good night Vienna, the fish are shoaled up in a few swims and I don't think they will move until the water warms up. See you all on the next match which is the Peter Philips memorial trophy on Sunday 8/4/18. Draw 9am as usual. Match sec, M.A. Dransfield.

Don't forget peeps! It's the first of the club doubles matches next week, Sunday 25/3/18. Draw is at 8am. See you all there, hope it's not as cold next week! This match is fully booked so only turn up if you are booked on, if you wish to pleasure fish, there are eight peg on the small pond that are available.
Looking like this Sundays winter league match is a no goer, given the weather this week.
Today's winter league match, 18/2/18, fished better than the last few we have had. Mr T. Porter was the eventual winner, whose better stamp of fish made the difference, see piccy below, he weighed 13lb 15oz of quality Ide, Perch, even a Tench put an appearance in. Well done that man. In second place was Mr K. Roberts, who weighed 7lb 11oz, a small Carp and a net of Ide making up his catch. It was nip and tuck between him and Mr Porter up to half way through, then Mr Porter's better stamp of fish made the difference. Third place went to Mr S. Turner, one bite one fish, a Carp of 6lb 14oz graced his net. Once again well done Mr Porter some stunning Ide there mate. See you all on the next match. Match sec, M. A. Dransfield.
