Sports Community Club We are a friendly, thriving private members club but you are more than welcome to pop in for a drink and we are always looking to take on new members. Our bar prices are some of the best in the area and we have a fine varied range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. We have two fantastic and very challenging bowling greens which are used in different local leagues most nights of the week and the club is steeped in tradition in bowling circles having won multiple team events and been crowned National Champions on more than one occasion. However we have many social bowlers who just enjoy a friendly but competitive game also!! We also have a pool table with teams represented in both the Ashton and Orrell Pool Leagues which you are more than welcome to join. The weekend entertainment consists of Bingo, Play Your Cards Right and regular members nights with different themes. Our spacious, clean and very modern looking club has a capacity for 120 people and we are very popular in hosting Christenings, Naming Days, Funerals, Birthday Parties and Meetings. The clubhouse and bowling greens are also available for hire for functions and these prove to be very popular during the summer months. We have an excellent reputation for the first class service we provide with very friendly bar staff too and you won't regret choosing us if you are looking for somewhere to hold your next function. There are many exciting new ventures in the pipeline as we look to take our club forward into the 21st century. Come and pay us a visit, you wont regret it!

Come and listen to the fantastic Greenalls Brass Band with the club situated on Nicol Road. Please let your friends and family know about this enjoyable evenings entertainment and no ticket is required.
Well the MEGA raffle took place on Bank Holiday Monday as planned conducted by our Chairman, Secretary and 2 Committee Members with independent witnesses present, and all prize winners have now been contacted to tell them what prizes they’ve won. Congratulations to Garry Edwards who won the amazing first prize of a 50” Smart TV and also Stephanie Critchley on winning the second prize of an X-Box. All other 49 prizes are in the process of being picked up by the winners and thanks again for your support as we sold over 900 raffle tickets! You can find a list of winning tickets and prize winners pinned up in the club and sincere thanks to all the businesses and individuals who very kindly donated prizes.

Huge thanks to everybody who came to support our Family Fun Day yesterday. Weather was amazing and almost 550 people came through the gates to enjoy the various games, beers and food on offer. However these events can’t run without a massive team of volunteers and to Stephanie Critchley, Ernest Critchley and Rita Green, great job guys for the many hours you put in to make yesterday such a success again!! To all the volunteers who manned stalls and helped set them up in very hot weather, thank you so much. To our amazing bar staff who helped to keep the various drinks flowing.....you’re top rate. BBQ helpers serving the amazing quality burgers and sausage in those temperatures....top job. To all the many businesses who donated raffle prizes and people who bought tickets, thank you. Special thanks to Dransfields for the 50” TV 1st prize and PE Pipeline Specialists Ltd for 2nd prize of an X-Box. The big draw with over 50 prizes on offer will take place later today at the club and any prize winners will be notified by phone call in the next day or two....good luck!! Finally apologies for the lack of pictures as I ended up stuck behind the bar for a chunk of the day to try and keep the drinks flowing and keep queues to a minimum. Hope you all had a great day and massive thanks again for your support 👍👍

Great day yesterday with some of the Bowl and Plate regulars on a day trip to St Annes in Lytham. As a reminder we’re not running for the next couple of weeks due to a large funeral today and a National Bowling Competition on next Friday. Hope to see you all again on Friday 6th September.

Recent Fit and Fed sessions at the club with the kids having so much fun over three consecutive days and getting so much variety too!! They got involved in Arts and Crafts, Rugby, Football, Crown Green Bowling, Softball, Dance, Making Fruit Kebabs and Pizzas and decorating cakes. Special thanks to Stephanie, Rita and Deb for all their hard work in pulling this together and their help on the days as well. Thanks also to Beth and Nicola from the Start Well Centre at Wigan Council for giving us the opportunity to host these sessions again and for their support. Also the many helpers from Wigan Warriors Foundation, Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, Wigan Council and other bowling club volunteers.

Come and join us for our Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday 25th August 1pm - 5pm. Hundreds of people came to last years event and there's guaranteed fun for all the family! There’s lots of prizes to be won on the various stalls/games and as always we’ll be selling tickets for our MEGA raffle with the first prize an amazing 50" Colour TV and an X-Box as the second prize with lots of other prizes too!! If anybody can lend a hand erecting marquees/gazebos on the day before the event from 10am we’d be most grateful. The initial weather forecast looks good and we'd love to see you there. Amazing fundraising effort last night for the charity ATAXIA. Huge thanks to all the many helpers involved and in particular Ste, Rita, Tracy, Jenna and Nobby. With the help of raffle/ticket sales and many donations, the grand sum of £1,529 was raised and that total is still growing! Thanks also to the many people who donated prizes and bought tickets.
Inspired Wigan
More great exposure this week for our Bowl & Plate project. Thanks to all attendees who support these sessions week in week out and our incredible volunteers who we simply couldn’t do without. It was such a memorable and emotional evening at the DW Stadium last year and one that we’ll simply never forget!!
