Jon emphasised the importance of staying up to date with research and evidence in his profession and interestingly how getting an MRI for a problem might not be the best way forward unless there is a very good reason to. Our education slot last week focused on what everyone is at BNI for: quality referrals that mean business. Key point to remember is that a referral is an open, a lead, a way in to a conversation. This means the person you are referring should be expecting a call. Very few of us like cold calling and cold calling often gets met with a brick wall. So when you're having a conversation and you think someone at BNI could be useful, just ask if you are happy to get that person to give them a call. And for the person receiving the referral, remember to follow up on it promptly. But then, why wouldn't you, a good referral is exactly why you come along to BNI!
