Every one of the 18 holes has its own individual appeal and character as the course climbs and falls, twists and turns, in sheltered valleys and on exposed plateaux between rocky outcrops and areas of gorse - a spectacular riot of perfumed yellow flowers when in bloom.

Playing from elevated tees with superb views of the course to lush and generous fairways and onwards to excellent greens, each shot requires careful thinking and the correct execution to earn par.

At 6276 yards and a par of 70 off the white tees, the course is not long by modern standards, but defended by its natural hazards and the ever changing wind direction, it will challenge golfers of all abilities.

If you combine a course designed by the great Herbert Fowler, playable all year round thanks to good drainage and the favourable weather enjoyed by the area, with a course maintained to the highest standard by a dedicated and enthusiastic team of green keepers, you then have a recipe for an exhilarating and unforgettable round of golf.
