Welcome back to an exciting new year as part of the wonderful Amersham Music Centre!! 😁

This will be my last post on this Facebook page, as I have now officially retired! I wanted to use it to thank staff, parents and students for their infectious enthusiasm for music. Getting up at crack of dawn on Saturday was never my favourite thing, but the atmosphere at the fantastic Amersham Music Centre made the morning whizz by. I am especially grateful to Catherine Buczak and Phil Bouwman, who both give extremely generously of their skills, time and energy. They are wonderful human beings. I have been so fortunate to know and work with them. They have become valued friends, from whom I have learnt so much and received such kindness. I would also like to thank the BLTM team, Penny Hale, Fay Hayhurst, Carolyn Sewell, Kersten Luts, Claire Willis and Glyn Murphy. The amount of talent, devotion and commitment, humour and loveliness in these people is amazing. They were great to work with. Thanks guys! Finally, I have received numerous gifts, including a bottle of extremely superior wine, which I shall put aside for a special moment, a John Lewis voucher, flowers, an antique violin brooch, and a fantastic mug with terrible photos of Catherine, Phil and me! There was also a cake, which got eaten before it could be recorded for posterity, but it was delicious! To all those of you who contributed to these, many, many thanks. I will miss you, but hope to be able to stay in touch. Signing off! Fiona Jacob.

I have had the best day! Thank you to all the lovely people at Amersham Music Centre for your good wishes. We had a lovely morning with lots of singing and playing, followed by a BBQ with more singing and playing. The parents and staff at AmMC are so incredibly enthusiastic about and supportive of music. It has been a privilege to work with such talented and committed students. The Am@Sing choirs have been the highlight of my week so that it really hasn't felt like work! I am so incredibly proud of all the members of my choirs. I was incredibly touched by the Youth Choir, who really went the extra mile with their lyrics, cards and lovely presents. I hope you keep singing and wish you all well in your future! I would especially like to thank Phil and Catherine, who slaved away all day to give me such a lovely music Centre send off. I could not wish to work with two nicer or more hard working people. You are both legends! I will miss you all, but hope you will let me come back sometimes to hear you perform. Have a lovely summer xxxx
