Description
We are a family run tearoom and gift shop based in Alnwick, Northumberland. The Old Stables is run by Avril & Stephen Mills from their home at Broomhouse, Alnwick. Avril is also the owner of the Northumberland Fudge Shop (known as Truly Scrumptious Fudge), producing luxury butter fudge. There will be a dedicated fudge counter in the shop, alongside local produce and gifts from Northumberland and further afield.
The Old Stables also serves homemade scones, cakes, soup and light lunches.

The Lion bridge will be closed for 10 weeks from the 19th September;please check our facebook for details of different routes to our Tearoom
From the 19th September the Lion Bridge down from the Castle will be closed for maintenance work; the notice says for 10 weeks but we are awaiting confirmation for this. This means to get to our Tearoom you will either have to go through the arch and turn left at the monument down Denwick Road (B1340) past the Alnwick Gardens and turn left at the Eglingham turnoff and drive for 1 mile OR you can go down Bailiffgate then Cannongate on the B6346; following the road past Abbeylands and turning right on Smiley Lane and right again past Hobberlaw Plants. This all sounds very confusing i know!
Just a quick post letting you all know that we will be open again from this Wednesday (6th July) at 10am! Our opening days and hours are: Wednesday - Saturday 10am - 4pm Hope to see you all soon!
