This week 24th September 2020, MERSEYCATS is still closed following government directives on covid 19, BUT, we as a charity for sick and disadvantaged children on Merseyside are still working behind the scenes, And now we present a virtual jam night with photos from the past, which include some pics of the bands who were to have kindly given their time and music for this week. Namely and in no particular order:- VINTAGE ROCK, THE CONNECTION, THE ROCKIN 60’S AND THE BUFFET MONSTERS….. MERSEYCATS would like to thank all our Musicians, Members and Supporters and including Mr Ste Yoz of The Oldy Club for his ongoing and continued support. MERSEYCATS hope that you are all staying safe and hope to see you all back at the OLDY in the near future. All photos were taken before government restrictions applied… If you use any photos please give accreditation to Merseycats

What a fantastic re-opening we had last Thursday 10th September. We would like to thank all those that came along to enjoy the music and camaraderie with us and especially to those who made the effort to get to The Oldy Club early enough to see the first act start the night at 8pm. We would also like to say a special thank you to Mark Jones who came over to compere our first night after lockdown, the Oldy Club and staff for giving us a very clean and well managed space to return and a big thank you to the four great acts that kindly volunteered to start us off again in style, Stu Houghton, Free Spirit, The Lackies (with guest) and The Merseycats Jam Band with Eddie and Eileen. We all had a great time with old friends and also managed to raise an amazing amount of money for our charity, over £200 on the night, which considering we were just relying on donations and raffle ticket sales, says a lot for the supporters of Merseycats, Thank you all 👍😘🎸🥁🎹🎼🎤👍

It's the time you've all been waiting for 😊😍🤩🥳😷👍 Merseycats Thursday night get togethers are back in action with social distancing and safety features all in place 👍 It's been a long road but with the fantastic work done by The Oldy Club, the home of Merseycats, we are finally feeling safe enough to start the Live Music again, but in a different way for now. We are not charging for entry for now, until we can see how it works, but we will have buckets out and about for you to make a donation, if you so wish. We still have a door free raffle, free buffet, supplied by The Oldy Club, to be taken at your discretion, raffles for a bottle of wine and free raffle for the musicians so you will all feel right at home and have a great night. We are having less acts on and longer gaps in between to enable the audience to have a little, socially distanced, catch up with old friends and for the stage equipment to be cleaned. We ask bands to please sanitise or wash their hands prior to getting on stage and we think we will be having one way on and one way off stage as well ? We also ask all vocalists to bring their own mics as they are impossible to be cleaned after each use to be safe to use on the same night. The Oldy Club will be manning the door for now and will need a name and contact number for their Track and Trace rules, your temperature will be taken also. If we all play our part and act responsibly we will never have to stop enjoying the music and raising money for sick and disadvantaged children again 👍🤞 If anyone in your household has shown signs of Covid-19 or been asked to self isolate, please do not come to Merseycats until you are safe to do so, as much as we want you all to come along every week we don't invite Covid-19 (as it's banned for life 😂😷) it's all a big learning curve for us all but we are Merseycats and we can do this 😂🤔👍 See you all there as early as possible as we are starting the music at 8pm and the musicians need your support as much as Merseycats do. Thank you all, Merseycats committee 😍👍🎸🥁🎸🎸🎹🎼🎤🎤🧽🧴❤️🍺🍷🥃👍
