SUNDAY 9 BALL - 10th APRIL : 28 Players. Last night we held our last competition before the Songkran Festival break, which attracted a total of 28 players from 15 different countries. Scott Cooney (A+20) and John Yaron Weber (A+2) contested the final, and they shared the prize money for 1st and 2nd place. They played a shorter race (10-2) than the scheduled race of 15-3, which Scott won in the deciding rack. His handicap is now increased to A+20* as a result. Thursday's Champion Hannu Torpstrom (A+1) continued his recent run of good form to reach the semi-finals, along with David Brooks (A+5), and they each took home 1500 baht. Winner : Scott Cooney (A+20) - 6000 baht. Runner-Up : John Weber (A+2) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : David Brooks (A+5) and Hannu Torpstrom (A+1) - 1500 baht each. PLEASE NOTE : There are NO TOURNAMENTS for the next TWO WEEKS due to the SONGKRAN FESTIVAL. The next tournament is 10 Ball on Tuesday 26th April, starting at the usual time of 6pm. THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION WINNERS : In this week's action we had 1 victory each for The USA, England, and Finland. Entries were back up again this week, with a total of 92 players playing over the three competitions. SUNDAY 9 BALL - 3rd APRIL : 31 Players. Jeff Schmitt continued his great run of recent form to finish one better than his Runners-Up placing from the previous Thursday. He defeated Nittha Punsuk in the deciding rack of the final to claim victory, and collected the 1st prize of 6500 baht. His handicap now moves up to A+3 as a result. Nittha took home 3500 baht for 2nd place. Filipino Richard Bong Bata and Nu Saowalak Taoputta both played well to reach the semi-finals, receiving 1000 baht. Nu's handicap now moves up to A+1. Winner : Jeff Schmitt (A+2) - 6500 baht. Runner-Up : Nittha Punsuk (A) - 3500 baht. Semi-finals : Richard Allinsub (A+20) and Nu (A+) - 1000 baht each. Quarter-finals : Peter Nielsen (A+3), Ann Muy Moolkesorn (A+1), Hannu Torpstrom (A+1), and Dan Björling (A+) - 500 baht each. TUESDAY 10 BALL - 5th APRIL : 29 Players. Brooksey Brooks won his first tournament since December 2014 with victory over Scott Cooney in an "All English" final. He played well all evening, winning 4 separate matches against A+20 opposition, and took home the 1st prize of 6500 baht. His handicap is now increased to A+5. Scott collected 3000 baht as Runner-Up. Preecha once again played well to reach the semi-finals, along with Mike Berezovsky in his last tournament before returning to The USA, and they each received 1500 baht. Winner : Brooksey Brooks (A+4) - 6500 baht. Runner-Up : Scott Cooney (A+20) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : Preecha (A+20) and Mike Berezovsky (A+3) - 1500 baht each. THURSDAY 9 BALL - 7th APRIL : 32 Players. Hannu Torpstrom won his second 9 Ball tournament in less than two weeks, with a hill hill victory over Hassain Qattan in last night's final. He won the 1st prize of 6000 baht. Hassain played well to reach the final, and his handicap is now increased to A+4 for the first time as a result. Winner : Hannu Torpstrom (A+1) - 6000 baht. Runner-Up : Hassain Qattan (A+3) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : Jeff Schmitt (A+3) and Stuart Gerrard (A+) - 1500 baht each. Quarter-finals : Rob Charles (A+6), Billy Hayes (A+5), Gan Kanchana Na (A+2), and Nisa Maftri (A+) - 500 baht each.

THIS WEEK'S TOURNAMENT WINNERS : In this week's action we saw one victory each for Finland, The Philippines and The USA. And we also had a Shoot-Out victory for The Netherlands. SUNDAY 9 BALL - 27th MARCH : 19 Players. A lower entry than usual due to the Grand Final on the previous night. Hannu Torpstrom recovered from a 3-1 deficit to win the last 4 racks and defeat Albert Gringhuis in the deciding rack of the final (race 5-4) to collect the 1st prize of 4500 baht. Albert very nearly completed the "Double" on the evening, having earlier won the Shoot-Out, but had to settle for 2nd place and 2000 baht this time. Winner : Hannu Torpstrom (A+1) - 4500 baht. Runner-Up : Albert Gringhuis (A+) - 2000 baht. Semi-finals : Brooksey Brooks (A+4) and Joe Anusron Simma (A+) - 1000 baht each. SHOOT-OUT : 14 Players. Winner : Albert Gringhuis (A+) - 1800 baht. Runner-Up : John Yaron Weber (A+2) - 1000 baht. TUESDAY 10 BALL - 29th MARCH : 24 Players. Roland Garcia was once again in superb form, with a comfortable win over Dominique Zagouri in the final of this week's 10 Ball. Preecha and Thomas Pettersson both played well to reach the semi-finals. Thomas' handicap now moves up to A+2 for the first time as a result. Winner : Roland Garcia (A+20*) - 5000 baht. Runner-Up : Dominic Zagouri (A+2) - 2500 baht. Semi-finals : Preecha (A+20) and Thomas Pettersson (A+1) - 1500 baht each. THURSDAY 9 BALL - 31st MARCH : 23 Players. Mike Berezovsky won an "All American" final against Jeff Schmitt by 5 racks to 1 (race 5-4) to receive the 1st prize of 5000 baht. Jeff collected 3000 baht for 2nd place. Elias Lonnroth and Gan Kanchana Na both played well to reach the semi-finals, taking home 1000 baht each. Elias' handicap now moves up to A+7 for the first time. SUNDAY 9 BALL GRAND FINAL : SCOTT IS CHAMPION. Congratulations go to England's Scott Cooney (A+20) for winning our Sunday 9 Ball Grand Final for Season 14 on Saturday night. From the maximum entry of 16 players, he defeated Dan Björling (A+) from Sweden in the final of the Double Elimination competition to take home the 1st prize of 12000 baht. Scott played very well throughout the tournament, only dropping a total of 3 racks from 83 played spanning 5 matches, and was a worthy winner. Dan also played well on the evening, beating all his opponents apart from Scott, and collected the Runners-Up prize of 6000 baht. Finishing in 3rd place was Filipino Hotshot Roland Garcia (A+20*), who after losing his 1st match, won 5 consecutive matches on the 1 Loss Side of the draw before finally coming unstuck against Dan in the 1 Loss Side Final. He received 4500 baht. In 4th place was Nid Mirantee Phukthamt who played well and took home 3000 baht prize money. Albert Gringhuis and Nittha Punsuk finished in equal 5th place, collecting 2000 baht each. Albert played well to record victories over Roland and Yut Ratchanon Khotakhob (A+13) en route to the Winners Side Semi-final, where he would lose out to the eventual winner. The other money winners on the evening were Thomas Pettersson (A+1) and Hannu Torpstrom (A+1), who each received 1000 baht for finishing in equal 7th place.

THIS WEEK'S TOURNAMENT WINNERS : This week's action saw one win each for The Philippines, Thailand, and Germany. Sunday and Tuesday were both dominated by the high handicappers, and recent winner regained his title on Thursday... SUNDAY 9 BALL - 20th MARCH : 27 Players. Two players at the top of their game contested the final on Sunday. "Filipino Hosthot" Roland Garcia and Thailand's Preecha, who played each other in the previous Tuesday's 10 Ball final, went head to head again in another high quality match, with Roland gaining his revenge by 7 racks to 4 (race 7-6). Scott Cooney and Stephen Moore played well to reach the semi-finals, and as a result Stephen's handicap now moves up to A+2 for the first time. Winner : Roland Garcia (A+20*) - 5500 baht. Runner-Up : Preecha (A+20) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : Scott Cooney (A+20) and Stephen Moore (A+1) - 1500 baht each. TUESDAY 10 BALL - 22nd MARCH : 22 Players. Thailand's current National 9 Ball Champion, Pipe Tanat Makkamontee won for the first time at Megabreak in nearly two years, with a deciding rack victory over Joe Stark from Germany in the final. He had to work very hard for his win though, winning the last 10 racks while Joe was on the hill. His handicap now moves up to A+20 as a result. Roland Garcia and Preecha were once again in the money, reaching the semi-finals this time. Winner : Pipe (A+18) - 5000 baht. Runner-Up : Joe Stark (A+3) - 2500 baht. Semi-finals : Roland Garcia (A+20*) and Preecha (A+20) - 1000 baht each. THURSDAY 9 BALL - 24th MARCH : 19 Players. Germany's Claus Thoden played superbly to regain the title that he won two weeks ago, with a 6-2 victory (race 6-4) over Mike Berezovsky from The USA in the final. He collected the 1st prize of 4500 baht and his handicap is now increased to A+6. Mike took home 2000 baht for 2nd place. Brooksey Brooks and Jp Van der Kam both played well to reach the semi-finals, receiving 1000 baht. Winner : Claus Thoden (A+5) - 4500 baht. Runner-Up : Mike Berezovsky (A+3) - 2000 baht. Semi-finals : Brooksey Brooks (A+4) and Jp Van der Kam (A+1 - 1000 baht each.

On Sunday we had our first female champion for over 6 weeks and only the third lady to win this year, a clash of the high-handicappers on Tuesday, and a first-time winner on Thursday. SUNDAY 9 BALL - 13th MARCH : 28 Players. Nu Saowalak Taoputta was one of only two ladies to play on Sunday, but she played well all night, and defeated Jeff Schmitt in the final to collect the 1st prize of 6000 baht. Her handicap now moves up to A+ as a result. Jeff took home 3000 baht for 2nd place. Brooksey Brooks and Peter Nielsen both played well to reach the semi-finals, receiving 1500 baht prize money each. Peter's handicap also moves back up to A+3. Winner : Nu (A) - 6000 baht. Runner-Up : Jeff Schmitt (A+2) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : Brooksey Brooks (A+4) and Peter Nielsen (A+2) - 1500 baht each. TUESDAY 10 BALL - 15th MARCH : 22 Players. Preecha won his first Megabreak tournament for well over 2 years, with a 6-3 victory (race 6-7) over Roland Garcia in a high quality final. His handicap now moves up to A+20 as a result. David Krzentowski and Mike Berezovsky both played well to reach the semi-finals, before coming up short against the high-handicappers. Winner : Preecha (A+18) - 5000 baht. Runner-Up : Roland Garcia (A+20*) - 2500 baht. Semi-finals : David Krzentowski (A+6) and Mike Berezovsky (A+3) - 1000 baht each. THURSDAY 9 BALL - 17th MARCH : 23 Players. Guy Pennington won for the very first time at Megabreak, in his last tournament before returning to England, with victory over Barrie Sherman in the final, 3-5 in racks (race 3-8). He received the 1st prize of 5000 baht, whilst Barrie had to settle for 3000 baht as Runner-Up. David Krzentowski reached his second semi-final in the space of 48 hours, along with Jit Khanitha Buachaturat, and they each took home 1000 baht. Winner : Guy Pennington (A+) - 5000 baht. Runner-Up : Barrie Sherman (A+7) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : David Krzentowski (A+6) and Jit (A+1) - 1000 baht each.

THIS WEEK'S TOURNAMENT WINNERS : This week saw Norway's Tom Fossum dominate the action for the second time in recent weeks with a fantastic "Double Win" of our Sunday 9 Ball and Tuesday 10 Ball Competitions. With Tom being unable to play on Thursday due to his handicap now being above the A+10 maximum, Claus Thoden from Germany took advantage to claim victory. SUNDAY 9 BALL - 6th MARCH : 32 Players. Tom had to win the last 4 racks against Brooksey Brooks to seal the win in the deciding rack and take home the 1st prize of 6000 baht. Brooksey played well to reach his first final in over a year, but had to settle for the Runners-Up spot and 3000 baht this time. David Krzentowski and Per Makitalo also played well to reach the semi-finals. Winner : Tom Fossum (A+10) - 6000 baht. Runner-Up : Brooksey Brooks (A+4) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : David Krzentowski (A+5) and Per Makitalo (A+4) - 1500 baht each. Quarter-finals : Pipe Tanat Makkamontee (A+18), Preecha (A+18), Albert Gringhuis (A+), and Guy Pennington (A+) - 500 baht each. TUESDAY 10 BALL - 8th MARCH : 21 Players. Tom made it 2 wins in less than 48 hours with a hill hill victory over Yury Kismereshkin Юрий Кисмерешкин in the final, after both players agreed to share the prize money and play a short race. His handicap now moves up to A+11 as a result. Yury played well to reach his first final at Megabreak, and his handicap is also increased to A+10. Winner : Tom Fossum (A+10) - 5000 baht. Runner-Up : Yury Kismereshkin (A+9) - 2500 baht. Semi-finals : Claus Thoden (A+4) and Peter Pellack (A+1) - 1000 baht each. THURSDAY 9 BALL - 10th MARCH : 25 Players. Claus defeated first time finalist, Peter Nielsen from Denmark by 6 racks to 2 (race 6-4), to collect the Winners prize of 5000 baht. His handicap now moves up to A+5 as a result. Peter received the Runners-Up prize of 3000 baht. David Krzentowski from Belgium reached his second semi-final in the space of 2 days, along with Hannu Torpstrom from Finland, and they both took home 1500 baht. TUESDAY 10 BALL GRAND FINAL : MIKY IS CHAMPION. Congratulations go to Miky Michele Mazza (A) from Italy for winning our Tuesday 10 Ball Grand Final for Season 11 on Saturday night. As the lowest handicapped player amongst the field of 16 entries, many considered Miky to have only a small chance of winning the event, but he proved them all wrong by playing superbly all evening to claim victory. He remained undefeated throughout the competition, winning 5 consecutive matches, and was a deserved winner. In the final he comfortably defeated Scott Cooney (A+20) from England, 2-6 in racks (race 2-15), to lift the trophy and collect the 1st prize of 10,500 baht. His handicap now moves up to A+ as a result. Scott received the Runners-Up prize of 5000 baht. Tom Fossum (A+10) from Norway and Yu Fluke Birman (A+5) from Brazil both played well to reach the semi-finals, taking home 3000 baht each. The other money winners on the evening were Preecha (A+18) from Thailand, John Weber (A+2) from Israel, Thomas Pettersson (A+1) from Sweden, and Hannu Torpstrom (A+!) from Finland, who all received 1500 baht as losing quarter-finalists.

THIS WEEK'S TOURNAMENT WINNERS : This week's tournaments saw three previous winners return to winning ways... SUNDAY 9 BALL - 28th FEBRUARY : 28 Players. From a field of 28 players, Dang from Links Bar won for the second time in the space of ten days, with victory over Pedro Huurainen in the final. His handicap now moves up to A+8 as a result, and Pedro's is also increased to A+11. Preecha and Thomas Pettersson both played well to reach the semi-finals. Winner : Dang (A+6) - 6000 baht. Runner-Up : Pedro Huurainen (A+10) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : Preecha (A+18) and Thomas Pettersson (A+1) - 1500 baht. TUESDAY 10 BALL - 1st MARCH : 21 Players. A smaller entry than recent weeks with 21 players taking part. Sweden's Thomas Pettersson won for the first time in 8 months, playing well to beat John Weber in the final and take home the 1st prize of 5000 baht. John also played well on the evening, including a victory over "Filipino Hotshot" Roland Garcia in the semi-finals, before coming up short against Thomas. Winner : Thomas Pettersson (A+1) - 5000 baht. Runner-Up : John Weber (A+2) - 2500 baht. Semi-finals : Roland Garcia (A+20*) and Per Erik Makitalo (A+4) - 1000 baht each. THURSDAY 9 BALL - 3rd MARCH : 27 Players. Last night's competition saw two of our elder statesmen reach the final. Megabreak's ever present Albert Gringhuis played well to comfortably defeat first time finalist Guy Pennington and collect the 1st prize of 5500 baht. Guy played well on the evening, but was no match for Albert's aggressive tactics in the final, and had to settle for the Runners-Up prize of 3000 baht. Winner : Albert Gringhuis (A+) - 5500 baht. Runner-Up : Guy Pennington (A+) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : Mike Berezovsky (A+3) and Nannygirl Dajan (A+1) - 1500 baht each, (Nan's handicap now moves up to A+2).

SUNDAY 9 BALL - 21st FEBRUARY : 34 Players. From a high entry of 34 players, Jari Rautio won for the very first time at Megabreak, with a hill hill victory in the final over Alessandro Sarti. He collected the 1st prize of 6500 baht, and Alex took home 3500 baht for 2nd place. David Chalmers, making a "one-off" Megabreak tournament appearance played well to reach the semi-finals, along with Nittha Punsuk, and they each received 1500 baht. Winner : Jari Rautio (A+3) - 6500 baht. Runner-Up : Alex Sarti (A+1) - 3500 baht. Semi-finals : Dave Chalmers (A+9) and Nittha Punsuk (A) - 1500 baht each. Quarter-finals : Jarkko Honkanen (A+15), Elias Lonnroth (A+6), Mike Berezovsky (A+3), and Thomas Pettersson (A+1) - 500 baht each. TUESDAY 10 BALL - 23rd FEBRUARY : 27 Players. Pedro was arguably the best player on the evening though, with superb victories over Roland Garcia in the semi-final and Scott Cooney in the quarter-final, before finally losing out to Tommy in the final. His handicap moves up to A+10 as a result. Winner : Tommy Fineman (A+6) - 5500 baht. Runner-Up : Pedro Huurainen (A+9) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : Roland Garcia (A+20*) and Elias Lonnroth (A+6) - 1500 baht each. THURSDAY 9 BALL - 25th FEBRUARY : 28 Players. From a total entry of 28 players, André Ohlsson won for the second time in three weeks, playing superbly in the final to defeat Frazer Davy, 4-4 in racks (race 4-8). He took home 6000 baht 1st prize, and his handicap is now increased to A+2 for the first time. Frazer played very solid pool all evening, before coming up short against Andre in the final. He collected 3000 baht as Runner-Up. Winner : Andre Ohlsson (A+1) - 6000 baht. Runner-Up : Frazer Davy (A+5) - 3000 baht. Semi-finals : Pensri Teal (A+) and Miky Mazza Michele Forza Napoli (A) - 1500 baht each.
