FIFA Museum hosts You Me At Six

"It was really cool for us to see all of the old memorabilia. The World Cup is obviously a highlight, but I think it was nice to hear some of the stories that are perhaps less known. That former winners and football legends can come here and relive that moment and bring back memories. That is really special!"

HISTORY LESSON - It was #onthisday 150 years ago that football's oldest trophy was presented to the winning side of the first tournament played in #football #history. The Youdan Cup was held in Sheffield in February and March 1867, and was won by Hallam F.C. who beat local rivals Norfolk in the Final. The trophy was not presented at the match, held at Bramall Lane on 5 March 1867, but was handed over four days later on the 9th, at a dinner for the teams at the Adelphi Hotel. Donated by the theatre owner Thomas Youdan, the trophy disappeared for over 100 years and was discovered in an antique shop in Scotland in 1997. The priceless trophy is now back in the hands of Hallam, proud owners of one of football's greatest treasures.
