Switzerland Zurich Mission
Description
Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints On 18 September 1960, the Swiss-Austrian Mission was dissolved and the Swiss Mission (Switzerland Zurich Mission) and Austrian missions were formed. The founding of the Swiss Stake (now the Zurich Switzerland Stake), the first in Switzerland, came on 27 October 1961. Swiss Mission headquarters were moved from Basel to Zurich on 21 December 1962.
February 13, 2010 Church News reported:
The Switzerland Zurich Mission will combine with the Germany Munich/Austria Mission, and portions of the Germany Frankfurt Mission. The resulting mission will be named the Alpine German-Speaking Mission, with headquarters in Munich.
