Our young protagonists are the center of attention in the next two weekends. Wolkenreiter from ZHdK Darstellende Künste und Film follows the imaginative Maximilian who dreams of a journey to the moon with his trusty co-pilot. The film by Manuela Rüegg screens on Saturday at Angelika Film Center - Dallas at the 34th Annual KidFilm Family Festival, organized by USA Film Festival. On Sunday and next weekend Divij Roopchand’s Mast Qalandar (Still) from The London Film School gets presented to the audience of Black Movie Festival in Geneva. It revolves around 13 year-old Montek, a Sikh teenager who makes a birthday wish that is really not easy to fulfill. Both films deal with contradictions between wishes of children and expectations of their parents. Go Kids Go!

Until now Michaela Müller’s Airport - Animated Short Film has already been presented at more than 40 film festivals worldwide. Now it got selected to two more: to the 24th edition of Slamdance Film Festival in the USA and to the 39th Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis in Germany. Film Servis Karlovy Vary, organizer of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival operates Festival krátkých filmů Praha (Pragueshorts) in the Czech capital, this is where our HALKO (directed by Teemu Nikki) will be presented in the “Man -User’s Manual” section at Kino Světozor and Kino Pilotů. In addition to that, Daniel Mulloy gives a workshop this Friday on his multiple award-winner HOME - short film that screens in the “Life on Mars” selection. Congratulations to both directors!

Breaking news: Berlinale Shorts introduced its lineup, including our IMFURA, a Swiss-Rwandan co-production and a graduation film from Haute école d'art et de design - Genève. It is the first Rwandan film ever in the history of the festival’s competition! Gisa, a young man returns to the village where his mother was born and disappeared during the genocide. He seeks to rediscover his share of the collective memory of a past that belongs to him. Hats off to the director Samuel Ishimwe and the whole cast and crew, we are really proud of you!

After the successful festival run of HALKO and FANTASIA, Teemu Nikki choose to partner up with CUT-UP again and brought as well the third one of his short films to us. His exciting PILKKIHIIHTO (Ski-Fishing) follows two Finnish brothers who battle in a ski-fishing competition. While waiting for fishes, they also try to win the heart of the woman they both are in love with. Thank you Teemu for your trust and your funny movies!
