Parent Coffee with the ICS Leadership Team:
Parent Coffee with the ICS Leadership Team: "Designing spaces to optimize learning at ICS - Updates on facilities enhancements for 2017/18" Please join us for Coffee with the ICS Leadership Team on Thursday 23 March, 08.30-10.00. The topic is "Designing spaces to optimize learning at ICS - Updates on facilities enhancements for 2017/18". Bruce and Elva Rubio have been quoted as saying that “It’s a natural impulse to nurture our young – let that impulse extend to the places where young people learn.” It seems obvious that we must create learning spaces that reflect our best pedagogical practices in schools. Yet how do schools actually translate what they know about optimal environments for learning into the spaces that they use for learning? In this session we will share our thoughts on how teaching and learning at ICS, with its student centred focus, should drive the design of our facilities and not the other way around.

The sunshine brought a good turnout for the running club's social run into Zurich this morning. Thanks for organising, Faye Clothier. Some of the running parents are also organising an International Family Fun Run in Zumikon on 13 May this year. We are trying to get as many multi-national teams to participate as possible, and some funds are still needed to get the event off the ground. A talented group of girls from Grade 11 have travelled to Abu Dhabi to sing at a Music Festival. The girls are performing in a High School Choir as part of AMIS (The Association for Music in International Schools). They have been accompanied on the trip by teacher Ms Ward and parent Linda Elzvik. A truly wonderful experience for them all. Congratulations to all involved!
