Jacey Cinemas UK
Description
'Jacey Cinemas' created by Joseph Cohen of Birmingham UK in the 1930's. Known as 'News Theatre', Tatler, Princes, Monseigneur, Cinephone, Jacey. Closed '81 I believe many of you could be interested to know more about my late Grandfather Joseph Cohen. I have only recently added to my website 'The History of Jacey Cinemas' with over 300 images of press cuttings and photographs from the early 1930's onwards. He was also involved in property and other projects, so there is a lot of information about him (not previously available on the Internet). Please do have a look at: -

Interesting, that there are quite a lot of people interested in the cinema industry of so long ago.

'The Jacey Article' by Ian Francis (Flatpack) has now been published in this month's edition of Sight and Sound (Feb 2017). Under the heading 'Rediscovery: Broadcast News' but sadly it is not included in the online version.
Flatpack | Film. And then some.
Just seen a draft of a write up for 'Site & Sound' magazine to be published soon. Written by Ian Francis of FLATPACK Projects. http://flatpackfestival.org.uk/

It has been very surprising to me, to find just how much interest there is in our cinema history. When I created my website found at: - http://www.jncohen.net/JaceyGroup/index.htm I never expected the number of complimentary emails received, some from writers, the most recent being the British Film Institute Archive. It makes all the work involved in creating the website worthwhile.
I am currently busy trying to make sure all my website pages are going to be presentable on mobile phones, as well as on tablets and the laptops. Not an easy task with so many pages!
Jacey, Group, Cinemas, News Theatre, Joseph Cohen, George, Stanley, Jack Cotton, property,...
I have added some more photos to 'The History of Jacey Cinemas Ltd' http://www.jncohen.net/JaceyGroup/JosephCohen.htm These are about 'Nudist Paradise' (the very first nudist film) and the Duke of Bedford.
