Facebook page of the Geneva team to the 26th Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court (Vis Moot) The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is considered one of the most prestigious moot court competitions in the world. Since 1994, it has been held annually in Vienna, Austria attracting more than 300 law schools from all around the world.

The goal of the Vis Arbitral Moot is to foster the study of international commercial law and arbitration for resolution of international business disputes through its application to a concrete problem of a client and to train law leaders of tomorrow in methods of alternative dispute resolution.

The journey to Vienna begins each year in October when ‘the Problem’ –based on an international sales transaction subjected to the CISG and involving procedural issues of arbitration– is released. In this first part of the competition, the team is in charge of preparing two written memoranda in support of the claimant's and subsequently the respondent's position. The second part of the competition consists in the hearing of oral arguments based upon the memorandums, which take place in Vienna and is settled by arbitral experts in the issues considered.
