Look out your window before you start cooking. Adjust your ingredients and recipes to weather and season: To match snowfall we suggest to start with “Lardo bianco", rich bacon from Val d’Aosta, served with some mountain honey and followed by a truffled potato soup. http://www.foodtrike.com/truffled-potato-soup/

A perfect match
A perfect match? Just like in romantic relationships you look for both balance and harmony but also excitement and diversity. Use ingredients that share key flavor components or opposites that attract. Pairings can enhance the natural aromas of the ingredients, give rise to a flavor previously undiscovered or even surprise us with a completely new taste experience. The world is full of unexpected food combos: In Sweden you serve blue cheese with gingerbread, in Morocco cinnamon is often paired with orange blossom, in Japan we tasted pop-corn with butter and soy sauce and in Sardinia you top smoked ricotta with salted and cured fish roe – delicious! Odd or obvious, what is you perfect match?

Have you found your perfect match? We do not want to talk about romance but food. About experimenting with exiting pairings and discovering ingredients that combine well with one another. Your method can be based on your imagination and creativity, on experience and science, or simply on trial and error. By paring wine and food, cigars and spirits or by mixing a fancy cocktail you can even create a perfect culinary match beyond your kitchen. More coming soon…
