Treat - Innovate - Teach - Research. The pillars of the ELZA Institute. Focusing on irregular astigmatism, keratoconus, and cross-linking technology. ELZA represents a unique combination in ophthalmology, uniting clinicians, surgeons, clinical researchers, and physicists to tzranslate research into clinical applications.
Our special emphasis lies on the cornea, and cross-linking technology. Members of our team were instrumental in establishing cross-linking technology in clinical ophthalmology.
In consequence, members of our team were voted into "The Power List 2014", a list of the 100 most influential people in global ophthalmology, as well as into the "Top 40 under 40", a list of the 40 most promising new personalities in global ophthalmology.
Our surgical services focus on improving on irregular astigmatism of all origins, including keratoconus, PMD, scars after trauma and infection.
Our current research aims at establishing PACK-Cross-linking for infectious keratitis, a new method co-developed by us.
