Switzerland's leading national design competition. Organised annually by the FOC Federal Office of Culture since 1918. Organised annually by the FOC Federal Office of Culture since 1918, the Swiss Design Awards - Switzerland’s leading national design competition -  aims to create platforms that help the competition winners advance in their careers and present their work to a wider audience.
This year's SWISS DESIGN AWARDS 2014 exhibition will feature the works by the 49 selected designers of the Federal Design Competition. The show, designed by Holzer Kobler Architekturen, opening on June 16, and running along the Art Basel week until June 22, is an outstanding opportunity to find out more about contemporary design and presents works by young and established designers from a number of disciplines: products and objects, fashion and textile design, graphic design, photography, scenography and intermediation. Some of the works are commissioned while others are the designers’ own projects. Together, they provide an insight into the current activities of the Swiss design industry.
The winners can choose between prize money of CHF 25,000, a six-month internship at a well-known firm, or free studio residences in London and New York.

Tobias Gutmann Knitwear

Everyone remembers Tobias Gutmann and his Faceomat. Support him with his newest knitwear collection on kickstarter. The patterns were designed with, in mind, the idea of blending in 3 aspects of life that are essential to the artist: food as a social life interaction, the animal world, and the urban human environment.
