European University for Volunteering
Description
EUV focuses on research linked to volunteering and the volunteer sector. It was first established in 1993 and is a travelling university. The EUV bases its activities on the ideas of the medieval travelling university, thereby offering a university education on topics related to civil engagement and civil society to volunteers and professionals working in the field of volunteering. Past conferences were held in Basel, Switzerland (2011), Lucerne, Switzerland (2005), Freiburg, Germany (2001), Santiago de Compostela, Spain (1999), Lyon, France (1997), Barcelona, Spain (1995) and have brought together researchers, university professors, politicians, as well as practitioners from the social and volunteer sectors.
