SwimTime Eksjö - On hold. Sorry not to be coming to you with better news, but the Nannylund Swimming Hall is closed until further notice due to to unforeseen structural problems with the pool. A 20% increase reported in the paper, a 294% reality Tuesday 28th November - Jönköpings Posten "Efter årsskiftet har kultur- och fritidsförvaltningen ökade intäktskrav om en miljon kronor på årsbasis. Det har gjort att man ökar hyrorna i kommunens fastigheter. Update from SwimTime. We are very disappointed by the comments made by Mazar Alijevski, Kultur and Fritidsdirektör, and Martin Gårlin, Avdelningschef för idrott och förening in the press. Their calculations are incorrect, and there is the ongoing reference to SwimTime paying an incorrect low rental at the Norrahammar Sport Centre. We do not consider 750sek per hour to be a low rental, and feel it is in line with other facilities we hire and equivalent facilities locally (See photo 4 below). We would understand an increase of 20% as eluded to in the press. Our rental price increase is 294%. Please read the email below and attachments, as we feel it provides more clarity to the comments made today in the media. I uttalandet säger du att "SwimTime har blivit feldebiterade sedan tidigare och nu blir det ett påslag när man gör rätt." Bifoga finns nu gällande prislista som sedan 2014 gäller för hyra av kommunens anläggningar. Jag skulle uppskatta mycket, om du kunde hjälpa mig att förstå hur du menar att feldebiteringen gått till. SwimTime har betalat till punkt och pricka det som finns angivet på sidan 11. SwimTime Norrahammar Sports Centre 2018 - Update Dear Parents and SwimTime Families We are sorry we are not coming to you with better news. On Monday of last week we received the attached letter and updated terms of rental for Norrahammar Sport Centre. These updated terms will result in the closure of SwimTime at Norrahammar Sports Centre on Sunday 17th December 2017. We have 3 weeks left to #SaveSwimTime SEE PHOTO ONE BELOW - The table highlights the effect the pricing has on rental at the facility, these prices refer to one weekend of pool rental, Saturday mornings 0830 - 1030, and Sunday afternoons 1500 - 1815. Equates to a rental price of 3500sek per hour: (SEE PHOTO ONE BELOW) *All figures exclude MOMS. The Main Changes equate to: 1) An additional 1080sek per hour fixed price, 5670sek per week. 2) The addition of a 36sek per adult spectator, 7200sek per week, (based on one parent per child.) SwimTimes rental at the facility relates to water space provided to the teaching of children and young people to swim. Introducing this pricing structure reflects a Kommun decision to eliminate the provision of swimming lessons for children under the age of six from both Norrahammar Sport Centre and Råslätt Swimming pool, and also a decision into the future that actively discourages people from attempting to provide this service. All of this teaching and rental income is generated when the Norrahammar Sports Centre would historically have been closed. Children should be able to swim before they start school, children should be able to swim as soon is developmentally possible. The fact that the system does not allow this, to us as swimming professionals and as parents defies belief. If one of our goals as a community is not safety around water, then something is definitely wrong. For SwimTime to continue we need to reverse a political decision, hopefully at the same time, highlighting the need for improved aquatic services being offered to us as community members. An ideal outcome would be some political will to talk to the clubs, associations, businesses, swimming professionals and parents of small children to find out what is required to get our communities engaged in swimming and safer in, on and around water. We are informed by Mr. Martin Gårlin, Avdelningschef idrott och förening, Jönköpings kommun, Kultur- & fritidsförvaltningen , Martin.garlin@jonkoping.se, that this was a political decision, and the only way it could be changed is to go through the politicians.
