My name is Luke Darracott. I am a writer, traveller, amateur film-maker and hispano/russophile. This is my little place where I can collate together all my bits and bobs for you guys to see the world how I have been seeing it. My page is a statement of who I am; a portfolio of my work; an optimistic outlook on the world. I am a travel writer, a traveller, an amateur film-maker and budget adventurer. This page, this hub, is the concentrated juice that forms the basis of a Darracott squash. A beverage which I believe is refreshing and will enhance the way you look at the world. It is currently Spain-centric with hints of russophilia. But that will change as my roster of work and adventure grows.
I hope you enjoy what there is to see and read.

Ever wanted to go out for tapas in Spain? Well Madrid is arguably the best place in the country to do it. So many bars. Here I successfully attempt to break a previous 9-stop record and hit 10 tapas bars eating and drinking through those cobbled, winding streets of the capital. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pxUJjy4oRk

The halted work on the third book project about Madrid's history through its food and bars is to remain halted indefinitely - i.e. until sometime when I have time in the years to come. Alongside the short story project a joint third project is to be started as a response to all the guidebooks and what we deal with on our tours at Devour Spain: "Darracott's no BS guide to Madrid" A sort of tell-it-as-it-is answer to the Lonely Planets and the Rick Steves.
