If you are into learning spanish at your stay in La Herradura, I can recommend Centro Del Mar down in the village! Had my first intensive week there with 2 hours a day personal lessons and learned A LOT! Book in advance though.

We can really recommend to go to Capileira in the national park of Las Alpujarras, Sierra Nevada. It takes only about 1.5 hour to drive and the nature and views are just fantastic. Capileira itself is situated at 1430 m above sea and is built up of the famous white stone houses. Eat at El Corral del Castaño, Taberna Restaurante La Tapa or at El Fogón de Raquel Restaurante. Walk down to the river of Poqueira, climb the Mulhacén peak height of 3478 metres, drink the fresh water in the dwells and buy bred in the Panadería Horno de Leña... Take A7 towards Motril, A44 towards Granada, A346 towards Órgiva and A4132 to Capileira!

Went to Córdoba today, about 130 km north of Málaga. Around year 1000 one of the largest/richest towns in Europe and the Cathedral-the Mezquita, is a World Heritage Site and a must see among many other things!
