Eagles Nest Restoration Centre
Description
a Place of restoration where you can break away from the busy city life and experience God's power and Word. Almost everyone today seeks for a better lifestyle. Family life is rushed and crammed into a busy schedule. People are more depressed, stressed and just simply frustrated with even trying to live a resemblance of fulfilled life. Even weekend breaks that people take are as busy as their weekday life. The need to get away from the busy world, not have to drive for kilometers and pay through your neck is so necessary.
Having counseled and ministered to many people during 25 years of ministry I believed a venue where people will come and rediscover themselves, the beauty of creation and when necessary have someone to counsel / or speak into their life has become a priority to underscore our Church’s Vision “Offering Hope”.
Desiré, my wife, and I prayed, seeking God for such a place. The idea of a Restoration Centre named “Eagles Nest” was birthed because of this very need. The property was purchased in faith some 3 years ago and today has a beautifully appointed Lodge which can cater for functions of hosting up to 60 guests.
This location is ideal for, Spiritual enrichment courses, and other short term courses where guests can breakaway and enjoy beautiful surroundings in between the lectures and ministry.
The facilities also include two equipped and comfortable chalets sleeping three to four persons respectively. This is perfect for those families who just need a break. Having no T.V. in the luxury chalets means families can truly spend quality time together around the Braai places or swimming pool in the beautiful and spacious gardens, or simply picnicking, just down on the lawns of River embankment.
Men’s and Ladies ministries are often held over a weekend and in summer a number of tents and caravans can be seen alongside a kilometer of tranquil “Riet” River, which flows alongside the boundary of the property. Much fun has been had during the team building games in and next to the River.
A number of folk who have visited the property for rest and ministry have often noted the Fish Eagles that are characteristic of the venue. Their early morning cries are often heard by the early fisherman and their graceful soaring has been said to lift the weary spirit of many a visitor.
These peaceful surroundings have contributed to a recent garden wedding celebrated at Eagles Nest. The day was truly blessed with amazing weather and guests have commented that it was one of the most beautiful and tranquil occasions enjoyed in a long time.
Future plans are in the pipeline to build a Chapel and another Conference Hall on the property especially for Prayer Groups, Weddings, Spiritual Enrichment Courses and Youth environmental education and camps.
It must be mentioned that Eagles Nest is a place acquired for all God’s people. It can be utilized by all, but bookings are essential.
Unfortunately no day picnic visits are allowed. However if you feel like a break, remember Eagles Nest is just the place where you can be spiritually, physically and emotionally recharged and challenged to really “Live life to the full” – John 10:10.
