facebook.comOn 19-09-2017 at about 12:00 a whattsapp alert came through about two young coloured guys who tried to rob a man in Palmer road. Intensive patrols were done in the area without any result. At about 12:35 an unknown lady called our office to report that a woman was robbed on the Cat Walk opposite 264 Main road. Noel accompanied by Lindikile the response officer and Hans the MID driver responded. s/o Lindikile saw the one suspect running towards the circle on the Beach front he was chased down by Lindikile, Noel and Hans and was arrested. On our way to the crime scene we found members of Lake Security with the second suspect. They were positively identified by the complainant and a witness. The victim was robbed of her hand bag and was stabbed in the hand(open wound on her thumb)by one of the suspects. The victim and the suspects were taken to the police station where a case of robbery was opened. Both suspects claimed that they are 16 years old. Both reside in the same street in Steenberg. The complainant was on her way home from work(old age home in St James). The bag was recovered and handed to the complainant. The victim of the attempted robbery in Palmer road was asked to go to the police station to open a case and to see if it was the same suspects. Well done to Lindekile, Hans and Noel for the quick response and the arrest of the perpetrators!!
Last evening one of our clients phoned in to our control room reporting someone trying to break into her property. Response Officer Fabian (yes again) was dispatched and apprehended the suspect who was in possession of a screwdriver. He was positively identified as the person trying to gain access to the clients property. He immediately took the suspect to Muizenberg SAPS who detained the man. SAPS also took a statement from the complainant. Well done to Fabian for outstanding work!!
Yesterday afternoon, our control received a call from our client in Upper Towers Road. She informed us that when she went outside her home to her car and returned shortly thereafter, she saw a man leaving her home. Response officer Fabian was dispatched and he caught the man. He was handcuffed and taken to SAPS after Fabian found a laptop tucked under the mans shirt. Once at SAPS it was established that he was wanted on other outstanding cases against him since 2010. Well done to Fabian and other Grit staff for this outstanding work!!!
Garage Safeguarded
On Wed 10 May our GRIT MID Patroller Hans drove by the Bluebird garages in Milner Rd and noticed one of the garages was open. He first thought perhaps the owner was near by but then decided to go back and check. Just as well he did because he found a man snooping around inside. Patroller Hans retrieved the keys and locked the garage leaving a note for the owner. Barry Benjamin, the owner was distracted at the time and drove off without realising he had left his garage open. Today he met with Hans to thank him for paying attention and managing the situation. Call the MID Patrollers on 060 850 6260. They patrol the Muizenberg Improvement District 24/7

I would just like to commend GRIT security officer Bulelani who works at the Muizenberg Checkers parking lot for coming to my aid so quickly when on Thursday 23 March a woman driving a white Kia reversed into my car. Bulelani was there immediately. The woman was shouting at me and wouldn't get out of her car to exchange details. Bulelani kept his cool, took photos, wrote details in his book and after she had driven off in a screech of tires, helped me examine my car He did this all in such a professional, gentlemanly and compassionate way. Fortunately only my bumper had her car paint on it and was only minimally scratched. Jenny Fisher

Client Thank you GRIT SECURITY SERVICES·MONDAY, 27 FEBRUARY 2017 Hi Teuns I am writing this email to let you know of the very kind and courteous treatment I received from Marco and Hans on Thursday evening last week. After arriving home following a 12 hour Lecturing day, I was so exhausted I wasn’t concentrating and locked my car keys in the car. I phoned emergency assist but couldn't close the garage door as that remote was on the car key chain. Your guys drove past, realised it could just be that I was unpacking the car but then drove back around within minutes. I explained my problem, they very kindly tried to assist with both keys and garage door Annarica Allison Muizenberg Client

GRIT security officers, Xolani and Stimela, while patrolling on the MID public safety team were rather surprised at a woman's reaction after her handbag was stolen on the beach. They spotted an unknown male in the act of stealing her bag from underneath an umbrella. The thief ran when he saw them but our guys gave chase, caught him and took him back to where the woman was sitting, returning the bag to her. She said thank you to the security officers and put the bag under the umbrella again. She said she did not want to press charges and then got up, left her bag under the umbrella again and walked off into the water for a swim. The bag was full and security officer Stemela saw that her phone, wallet and keys were also in the bag. Difficult for us to act when no criminal charges are laid but our patrollers took the suspect to the Law Enforcement offices where they recorded his name and address and took his photo. He was then asked to leave the area. We are seeing that many swimmers leave their valuables unattended on the grass banks and paved area at the beach. Please alert our team on the dedicated MID public safety smart phone 060 850 6260 (sms or phone) if you see this happening. Possibly some of these people are visitors to our beach and don't realise that they are making themselves vulnerable to opportunistic crime.
