I am Belgrade Sparrow. The symbol of the city. Modest. Easygoing. A bit of a talker. Bohemian. A good host. I am in Belgrade for ages. Everything that I love is in this city. I remember the days when I was a regular guest in the old yellow "kafana" in today's Palace of Albania. I helped Ivan Meštrović to move the famous Victor to Kalemegdan, and I wrote with famous writer Đura Jakšić about freedom. I stood on the last brick of National Theater that morning when they finished it, and I flew over the confluence of Sava and Danube rivers. I always have been stubborn, lively, and cheerful. During 30s I flew over "korzo", during 50s I listened to the smooth Belgrade jazz. I've done some things that no other sparrow have done, I whispered the rhymes to poets, kept the secrets of Belgrade charmers, waited the first sun with the city bohemians, played cards with the city players. I was building, and fixing, changing and keeping things untouched. Once, I have even landed on Tesla's shoulder. But, about that some other time. Believe me, Belgrade has numerous stories and legends, and I flew above all of them.
