Visit the "Petrodvorets Watch Factory - Raketa"
Description
Visit Russia's oldest factory, one of the last manufactures producing its movement from A to Z Founded by Peter the Great in 1721, the "Petrodvorets Watch Factory" produces watches under the famous brand Raketa since 1962.
This factory is one of the legends of the Soviet industry! Though it is not as huge as it used to be in the 70's, it is the last historical watch manufacture in Russia producing entirely its mechanisms.
It is recommended to give a call before showing up. Entrance is for free. They may find a watchmaker speaking some English to show you around. You may want to buy a real Russian watch at the factory, though the prices will not necessarily be cheaper than in authorized shops.
Though the factory is a 10 minutes walk from the Palast from Peter the Great, the Entrance is not so easy to find. Do not hesitate to call to find your way.
