Description
Welcome to the official page of Orda Cave, one of the biggest gypsum cave in Europe. This is unique underwater speleology base for technical cave diving. Orda Cave (Ordinskaya) is a gypsum cave situated underneath the western Ural Mountains. The entrance is near the shore of the Kungur River just outside Orda village, Perm District in Russia. The cave system is about 5.1 kilometres (4.8 kilometres underwater). This makes it one of the longest underwater caves and the largest underwater gypsum cave in Russia. It contains the longest siphon in the former Soviet Union (935 meters). The water is very cold (+5) and clear. Divers have a visibility of over 50 meters.
The Underwater Speleology Base has comfortable appartments. Orda cave is one of the most good equipped cave in the world. It has safe climb-down stairs, electric light inside the dry part, comfortable diving platform and staff for descent and lifting up scuba equipment.
