Presente em várias áreas de negócios, esta família, que já era proprietária de várias vinhas em redor da pequena Vila da Lixa, decide criar em 1986 um pequeno negócio que se tornaria no que é agora a Quinta da Lixa - Sociedade Agrícola, Lda. Os resultados estão presentes sob a forma de uma produção superior a 4 Milhões de garrafas por ano com a venda de 52% dessa produção para 34 mercados externos, correspondendo a uma faturação superior a 5,5 Milhões de Euros por ano.
Nos últimos 5 anos foram investidos mais de 6 Milhões de Euros em novas propriedades para aumentar a capacidade da Adega, numa nova linha de engarrafamento com capacidade de 9 mil garrafas/hora e no primeiro Hotel Vínico da Região dos Vinhos Verdes, o Monverde - Wine Experience Hotel.

Present in several areas of the business world, this family, that already owned vineyards located around the small village of Lixa, decides in 1986 to create a small business that would become what is now the Quinta da Lixa - Sociedade Agrícola, Lda. The results are presented in a 4 Million bottle per year production with 52% of total production sent for 34 countries, referring to a total income higher than 6 million euros per year.
In the last five years investments were made, more than 6 million in new properties to increase the Winery production capacity, a new bottling line with filling capacity of 6000 bottles / hour and a 4 star Wine Hotel - Monverde - Wine Experience Hotel.

Vinho Verde Looks To Premiumize Vinho Verde has a reputation for crisp, easy-drinking wines that are also easy on the wallet. But in recent years, producers in this Portuguese wine region have worked to move the category upscale. As a result of those efforts, exports of Vinho Verde in the U.S. are rising not just by volume, but by value as well. From 2014 to 2016, Vinho Verde exports to the U.S. grew 37% by value to $13.7 million—making the U.S. the category’s top export market. During that two-year period, U.S. volume rose by 15% to nearly 600,000 cases. The region’s trade organization Comissão de Viticultura da Região Vinhos Verdes (CVRVV) believes the premiumization effect can largely be attributed to one factor: single-varietal wines. While Portugal is known for its blends—with its 250-plus local grape varieties—Vinho Verde producers are now intent on increasing the notoriety of single varietals like Alvarinho and Loureiro. “We’re planting new vines, and we also have a new generation of producers that are focused on raising quality,” notes Carla Cunha, marketing director at CVRVV. Around 400 to 500 hectares (1,000–1,200 acres) of new vineyards are being planted in the Vinho Verde region each year, with an emphasis on creating more premium offerings.
