Kleinschalige Bed en Breakfast in de Algarve van Zuid Portugal, heerlijk wandelen en ontspannen. Wij zijn Kathleen en Nicole en we heten u van harte welkom in ons moderne huis vlak buiten het traditioneel Portugese dorp Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, op 30 minuten van het vliegveld van Faro.
Bed and Breakfast Cas al Cubo ligt midden in de natuur aan de voet van de Algarviaanse heuvels, op 10 minuten rijden van het strand, de golfbanen en de vogelkijk gebieden.

Het gebeurt niet vaak, maar ook in de Algarve kan het regenen. En als het hier regent..... It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes the Algarve also catches rain. And when it rains here.... it poors!
Na weken lang een strakblauwe lucht, hadden we vanavond een roodachtige zonsondergang als voorbode van een aangekondigde weersverandering. Avondrood.... water in de sloot! After weeks if bright blue skies, this evening the sun went under in a bright red glow. A forecast of a change in weather in the Algarve. Rain ahead....
Vandaag zijn alle matrassen en kussens bij B&B Cas al Cubo gereinigd, behandeld met UV (doodt bacterien) en nabehandeld met een bacteriewerend middel. Wij kunnen het seizoen fris beginnen! Met dank aan Neven Matrasreiniging. Today, all matresses and pillows are cleant, UV-treated (kills bacteria) and sprayed with a bug-killing product. We are starting the season fresh and clean! Thank you, Neven Matresscleaning!

Op de valreep en geheel per ongeluk, kregen we toch nog een passage mee van de prof wielrenners die meereden in de Volta do Algarve. Last minute, and fully unplanned, we ended up in the middle of the last leg from the professional small cycling tour Volta do Algarve
Een eerste zomerse dag in de Algarve met een lunch in de zon. Wij hebben de dag benut door eens flink te snoeien in de grassen en Yucca’s. The first summer-like day in the Algarve of 2018. We’ve used it by rigorously cutting the grasses and pruning the Yucca’s. “Voor en na de snoei” “Before and after pruning”
Elke week voorspellen de Portugese meteorologen heel hoopvol bákken met regen en elke week stellen ze de voorspellingen bij. Ook vandaag weer een prachtige dag, zonnig bij een graad of 18 met velden vol bloeiende amandelbomen. Echt het ultieme lentegevoel! Every week, the Portuguese meteorological institute wishfully forecasts lots of rain. And every week they change their minds. Today we have another brilliant sunny day, around 18degrees celcius and we are surrounded bij blossoming almond trees. The ultimate spring feeling.
