Algarve oranges... it's that time of the year again-yum! This time last year we were tasting the fabulous oranges of the Algarve at the annual event held in Silves. Oranges, orange cakes, orange liquers, orange cocktails... simply amazing! We were also happy to enjoy the stunning weather as we went for a refreshing stroll to Praia da Marinha, following the friendly local seagulls. No ano passado, por esta altura, passámos uns dias na Quinta Albasol para podermos ir provar as laranjas, e os licores, as compotas e os doces regionais de laranja, que encontrámos na 2ª mostra da laranja em Silves. Aproveitámos ainda para dar um passeio a pé até à Praia da Marinha. A weekend away In mid-January was just what was needed! At this time of the year, the light and colours around Quinta Albasol are quite spectacular. After a slow start, which involved reading a book whilst sítting by the fireplace and a game of table tennis, Sunday turned out to be a stunning, warm and sunny day - just perfect for a stroll in nature, taking a few photographs and a bit of birdwatching. We didn’t forget that the oranges are now ripe... the oranges from quinta do Albasol were delicious! Looking forward to the orange festival in Silves in mid-February already... The day ended on a perfect note as the amazing and intense full moon rose a few minutes before the sunset.
