Mjøstårnet is a project under construction with a net area of about 11300 m2. The building has 18 storeys that include apartments, a hotel, offices,  and associated common areas. Mjøstårnet will be the world's tallest timber building reaching 81meters The Norwegian contractors HENT AS are building the Mjøstårnet project for AB Invest. Moelven Limtre AS is HENT's turnkey subcontractor and will supply glulam, Kerto and cross laminated timber for the tower structure and neighbouring swimming arena.
Mjøstårnet will have wood-based slab elements in the bottom ten storeys, using Moelven's Trä8 elements. Moelven supplies and installs  the wooden structures. Installation will take place from September 2017 until May 2018.

Installation of timber structures up to level 17 is well underway. The roof terrace will be built on top of this. Please note that the webcam service is temporarily out of service due to technical reasons.

This week HENT started installation of the first concrete floor on level 12. The 300 mm thick deck consists of a prefabricated bottom part supported by large glulam beams. The top part is cast in place, and encases a series of timber screws that connect the deck to the timber structure. The prefabricated concrete elements are supplied by Conform.

Video from Mjøstårnet today. Winter is here. In the past weeks we have experienced temperatures between minus 10 and minus 20 degrees Celsius. Trä8 timber floors are installed up to level 11. Extension of the elevator shafts and installation of wall elements will continue in the next weeks. We’re on track!

Last week Mjøstårnet was presented at the IHF 2017 wood conference in Garmisch Partenkirchen (forum-holzbau). The event gathered 1700 participants, and many of them learned about the ongoing construction in Brumunddal. When this is finished Moelven Limtre will continue upwards with timber structures. Next to the tower you see the glulam structures of the swimming hall that is also being installed now.
