THE DAILY DEVOTIONAL CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION) DATE : MONDAY 31,2016 Reading: Joshua 16: 1-10 TOPIC: ADOPTED TO SHARE IN THE INHERITANCE OF GOD'S CHILDREN The two sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, shared in the inheritance of Israel by taking over the inheritance of Reuben, the original firstborn of Jacob who lost his birthright after he defiled his father's bed (1Chron.5:1). Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach (Prov.14:34). God used Joseph the beloved son of Jacob by Rachael to keep Jacob and his family from perishing in time of famine, Joseph's children benefited from their father's integrity and faithfulness to God. Do you realize that your actions can affect your children positively or negatively now or later? Jacob adopted the two sons of Joseph as his biological sons for them to share in his inheritance (Gen.48:5). Another Son hundreds of years later, lived in absolute obedience to His Father (Heb.5: 8-9),and humanity has been benefitting from His spiritual life of integrity, holiness and obedience ever since. Jesus Christ shed his blood to redeem mankind so that whosoever receives Him through faith becomes a child of God by adoption (Rom.8:14-17). Have you given your life to Jesus Christ? If you have, then you are His by adoption; therefore emulate His life of integrity, holiness and obedience. However, if you have not, do so today so you can become a joint heir with Him of all the blessings of heaven. Prayer: Lord , help me to live faithfully as Your child so that I will share in the inheritance of Your children.

Congrats to All Saints and Church of Penticost choir who came first in the just concluded grade 2 & 3 singing competition. They both came out triumphantly as winnwers in grade 2 and 3 respectively. We pray that St. Mary's Church will do well too. Happy sunday
