YAC SUNDAY... MY REGARDS. On this day that marks our 2016 YAC Sunday in Niger Diocese, I wish to remarkably reach out to all young youths with a reminder of hope in God for glorious and outstanding accomplishments. Being young is the same as passing a stage! We may want to be young forever but that is very impossible! Just like we cannot turn back the hands of time, we cannot grow younger, we can only get older. That is why today is the best time to do our best because today we have the energy, the passion and the zeal to thread the path of the invincible! As young people, we are distributed into diverse communities, we find our selves in schools, training centres and other institutions while some of us are beginning to try out our new professions. These places we find ourselves are platforms to display God's beauty, glory, kindness, love and mercy! We do that by being the light, by being kind to people, by being compassionate in all sincerity and truth of God's word. Carefulness is a watchword in this phase that we will soon run through! Whatever we do now may stand tomorrow to spit at our faces, however we handle issues today may go a long way to linger into our old age! Now is the time to add finishing touches to our lives, now is the time stand tall and trample the temptation of engaging in things not worthy of God's glory. While there are many young people out there who have chosen to live life like it doesn't matter how messed up they are, avoid their companion, avoid communion with them and live a superior life because you have a father who loves you. You are too beautiful to be messed up, you're too good to be destroyed, you're too smart to be played with, you're too wonderful to be used as caricature! Celebrate your beauty, energy and career! Celebrate the phase you are in now and never make less use of it... Be an influence to your neighbours, be the voice they hear, allow God's glory to manifest through you to them and never forget that this is not the end and this is not where you will be forever. While there are lots of distractions in this world ranging from money, pleasures, electronic gadgets, movies, friends and so on, always understand that God allowed this things to stay because they are evangelical tools when used positively in the light of his word. We can do more, we can shake this world, we can cause revolution and we can explore life because we are LIVELY STONES! Happy YAC Sunday! Your Friend and Brother George O.N

TO ALL YAC MEMBERS AND PARTNERS “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 On 17th August 2016, we experienced one of the most trying times in the history of The YAC Ministry in Diocese on the Niger. We have not been so moved to tears as now. It is in the midst of this grief and mourning that the devil comes to suggest fear, unbelief, impatience and lack of trust in God’s word. Having lost Brother Uchenna Maduka who had an accident while in active service to the Lord in the YAC ministry, many have risen to ask questions, make suggestions and even point fingers. It is in this regard that I have taken it up to address us all, friends and well wishers. Bro Uche Maduka has been a brother to me, a brother to us and indeed a mentor to many. Up to his death, he was the Ogidi Archdeaconry coordinator of the YAC Ministry and the composer of the new YAC anthem that is yet to be commissioned officially. Uche has been so useful not just to the YAC ministry but to other ministries in the Anglican Church and beyond. He was with me at the first mission project we had at Ibeagu Izzi, Ebonyi State, Nigeria and he wasn’t just present, he was actively present, passionate and ready to do more. Uche has been known for his simplicity, discipline and smiles. Many people are worried why God would allow such thing to happen, why he had to die and why it has to be the YAC ministry and the family of Maduka. Some also suggest that something has gone wrong spiritually in YAC… Some feel there has been a leakage through which the enemy has entered. I may not have the answers to these questions and claims, I may not know the right words to address these sincere points of views from the public but I know one thing for sure… God is still loving, merciful, gracious and kind. YAC is grieved but nothing has gone wrong with YAC. God’s everlasting sacrifice covers it all and not a single’s man’s blood or that of the entire world is needed for anymore sacrifice. These are trying times; these are one of those moments when the devil finds it suitable enough to bring in confusion, fear and pains. But God’s word is worthy to be trusted to any point. We must always remember God’s comforting word in Psalms 147:3 “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” There is another superb comfort from God stemming from Isaiah 41:10 and it says “when you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you when you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your saviour” I want us to understand that God is concerned. Many of us prayed, many of us spent nights with Uche in the hospital, many of fasted for his quick recovery but we do all that in our limitations. God’s knows the best. It is not God’s will that Uche leaves this way but God has turned bad to good. God has translated Uche from the physical to the spiritual so that he will not undergo the pains of surviving, the pains of healing and the pains and memory of the past. This is not a time to question God but a time to adore his greatness and wisdom. This is not a time to give room to the devil… Let us put the devil to shame by exalting the name of the Lord even in this trying time. Therefore, I call upon all our brethren all over the world, our friends and well wishers, our partners and sponsors… Let us lift our voice, our hearts and our hands and worship to God. Let us declare the greatness of God and loving kindness, goodness and mercies. That is all we can do, that is all we are supposed to do and that shows that our trust in God is firm. Even Job at a point had to recollect himself to praise God. Let us never be carried away by our tears and our emotions. I also call on us to pray for his family, let God supply them with strength to bear this loss. We also need to declare quick recovery and divine healing on Ebuka Mozie, a colleague of ours who was also involved in the accident with him but is currently receiving treatments at the UNTH Enugu. I want us to know that God cares. Let the death of Uche cause us to reflect on our lives. We must carry out the kingdom work as if there is no tomorrow and we must live for the glory of God. Uche set a standard, he left a legacy even at a very tender age, he affected lives and he left the earth with songs of praise. Believe me; Uche isn’t planning to come back because he has gone to be with the Lord. Someday, we shall be joining him and the host of Angels to sing praises to the name of the Lord and in the presence of God. The Psalmist wrote in chapter 18 verse 2 that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. He also wrote in chapter 30:5 that God is our refuge and always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. This is also a time to be family to the core for all of us at YAC. This is a time to speak with one voice, one mind and one Spirit. I believe this is the time for all officials, ex officials, Patrons, Senior Friends and members of the YAC ministry and indeed other Christians to know, that we are together… In praying together, our unity is potrayed. I leave you on this note: God knows all, we may not be able to give you answers to some questions but at the end of this earth, we shall know all things! We will see reasons why God allowed this happen and we will marvel at his wisdom. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now, we know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. May Uche rest in perfect peace and may those who grieve find solace in the word of God. I am your brother and Friend George Onyedika Nnadozie.
