facebook.comJust in... By Berger Alfred MO Assembly leadership to refund N450 million in 7 days. A reliable information reaching me now has it that due to the intervention of the Benue State govenor who was at the EFCC headquarters this evening to bail the trio of speaker Terkimbir Ikyange, Hon. Adanyi and Hon. James Okefe out of the Efcc cell, a bail agreement has been reached between the governor and the Efcc that the Benue State house of Assembly leadership led by Rt. Hon. Ikyange, Hon. Okefe and Bar. Adanyi should refund the sum of N450 Million in a week time or they should honorable resign their positions and face Efcc trial. It could be recalled that the Benue State house of Assembly yesterday resumed sitting after a two week break, but due to the absent of Speaker Ikyange and his deputy Hon. Okefe who were detained at the Efcc headquarters for corruption charges, the sitting could not hold. In God we trust.
Scannews posted: N750m FRAUD: Benue Speaker Ikyange, Adanyi, Others Kept By EFCC Benue state House of Assembly Speaker, Terkimbi Ikyange, his Deputy, James Okefe, Majority Leader, Benjamin Adanyi are at the moment, special guests of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. It would be recalled that the EFCC had invited the trio along seven other APC lawmakers to answer questions in regards to the fraud of N750m said to be car loan. Information from the Falomo street, Wuse Zone II has it that the speaker who appeared to the anti-graft agency’s office Monday was asked not to go as his explanation was grossly lagging in factuality. James Okefe, the deputy Speaker is said to have selectively purchase vehicles for some select members especially those of the ruling APC ignoring those from the PDP. He however, after sharing the remaining funds with the MAIN team in the house, Okefe allegedly prepared payment vouchers covering all members where he used fake chassis numbers against names of the members who were denied the cars. It would be recalled that Ortom since assumption of office has been consistently claiming to be “God’s sent” to Benue who abhors corruption. Yet, after the Governor received bailout and took loans, corruption started reigning supreme in his government as confirmed by the ICPC over bailout and now the EFCC.
