SUNDAY 18TH, JUNE 2017 (PARENTS' SUNDAY) TOPIC: OVERCOMING DESTINY-DESTROYING ATTITUDE IN PARENTS TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:4 INTRODUCTION Parental roles and responsibilities is to take care of their children, while the children responsibilities is to obey their parents. Our main focus is not on our children but on our parents. The Scripture warns parents that we need to be careful in the way we carry out our responsibilities, so as not to lead them astray, many parents of nowadays leave their children for someone else to train, all for unreasonable reasons. PARENTS FAIL IN THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS √ When parents are not sensitive to their children need. √ When parents lead their children astray. √ When parents don't have good relationship with their children. √ When parents fail to give their children good education. √ When parents don't have listening ears. √ When parents compare their children with other children. √ When parents shout at their children unnecessary. √When parents impose their will on their children. √ When sending them on irrelevant errands. √ When parents aren't a good role model to their children. SUNDAY 11TH JUNE, 2017 TOPIC: IT'S TIME TO ARISE ISAIAH 60:1-2, GENESIS 13:14-17 INTRODUCTION ARISE is an action word. As for many in the scriptures that the Lord has used or blessed, they have harkened to the voice of God, they either made moves or took steps that changed their lives for good. The major challenges we have is that we do the same thing the same way. Let's change our routine on how we do things, Let's leave our COMFORT ZONE so that we can ARISE. If you are praying for GOD'S BLESSINGS and you are not playing your part, you will not get there. • It is not enough to quote the blessings of the Lord while we are not playing our part. • God is asking us to take action, if you take deliberate action God will turn your life around for Good. YOUTH AND STUDENT WEEK 2017 DATE: 4TH JUNE,2017 THEME: PRICE FOR THE PRIZE TOPIC: PRICE FOR ETERNAL LIFE TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 3: 14-19 MINISTER: YOUTH PASTOR; BRO. OLUMIDE AYORINDE INTRODUCTION Price is what we pay just to get what we want. According to Philippians 3: 14, is talking about the Eternal Price. John 17:2 makes us to understand that eternal life means knowing God. God is calling our attention through one means or the other but the most important thing is that He want to give us eternal life. 1john 5:11 life is an act of existence. Why God want to give us eternal life. There are two types of life; The FLESH & The SPIRIT. We are born with the FLESH but God want us to be born again by the SPIRIT. Reasons why we need to be born by the SPIRIT. √ There is something wrong with the life we are living. √ You cannot live a possession of two lives √ The flesh dose not fit for the kingdom of God √ Galatians 5:17 The act of FLESH in us is default √ Romans 7:15. The life of God SPIRIT and FLESH are contrary to each other. √ Romans 8: 5-8 when the FLESH controls us it results to death but when the SPIRIT controls us it result to life and peace. √ 1john 3:4-7 Don't let us be deceived by the FLESH √ 1John 3:9 Those that are a born of God can not commit sins for they are seeds of God How to overcome FLESH √ The only way is terminate FLESH is by death √ Lay hold on that particular sin √ Don't manage the act of FLESH √ Surrender the act of FLESH to Jesus for death Deuteronomy 21: 8-9 √ Romans 7:6 We must kill our act of FLESH as to be free from FLESH 2 conrithians 5:15. √ 2conrinthians 5:17 Old things are pass way. If you surrender your life you will be free from FLESH and you will have rest. NB: The Greatest Price you can ever pay is to bring the FLESH down to God's feet he can handle it.
