We are on a mission to reach out to and advance the circumstances of girls who are deprived of education opportunity to lead a better life. Dreamt and begun in 2007, was an inspiration gotten as a result of a need among the young women in Nigeria who face poverty and culture-based gender discrimination and are therefore deprived of education and training opportunities to attain a better life. . In 2011, GEM was nationally registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with registration number (CAC/IT/NO 45818). As an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization aim for the betterment of humanity particularly the life of the Girl children, GEM is also registered with the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML) of the economic financial crime commission (EFCC) of the federal republic of Nigeria with registration number (RN:SC 321400084).

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence starts today, 25 November. Running until the 10th of December, which is Human Rights Day, this is our chance to speak up and shout out that ending violence is possible, and ending sending girls to school is a vital.
Girls Education Mission International''s Executive Director today, hosted the Director and Chairman of Pax-Amor Initiative who came on a familiarization and Visit. Pax-Amor Initiative is a Jos-based platform for dialogue, that promotes capacity building, health intervention, social justice and good governance.
Girls Education Mission International was represented at the Public Presentation of the 2018 Federal Budget Proposals tagged “Budget of Consolidation” After the Nigeria 2018 Budget proposals was presented to the National Assembly on the 7th of November 2018 by the President Himself, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, the Honorable Minister of Budget and National Planning Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, invited Stakeholders for Public presentation of the Budget proposal before it is pass into Law by the Senate. Ministers who made it to the event were Minister of Budget Himself Senator Udoma Udo Udoma; Minister of Budget State, Mrs Zainab Ahmad; Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun; Minister of Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu; Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, Minister of State Solid Minerals, Abubakar Bawa Bwari. Others are Director General Budget Office, Special Adviser to President on Legislative Matters, Head of Civil Services, Directors of various MDAs, Civil society representatives, Media Houses and many other private sectors. The Budget which is tagged "Budget of Consolidation" is said to consolidate the gains recorded so far by the present Government and ensure that all Nigerians benefit from the budget. Girls Education Mission International's mandate is that of ensuring that women and girls benefits from the budget.
